Have you stayed at the Kihei resort? Here's your chance to tell other owners what it's really like. How big is the pool? How hot is the hot tub? What do you wish you had known before you left home?

We just returned from Kihei. Loved it. We were in Building Five. It was close to the parking lot. I told them we had my mother with us and she couldn't walk far and they were very accommodating. Of course, we had booked it exactly 13 months ahead of time, so we are supposed to have a great room. We did have a nice view.
There were issues with the toilet and dishwasher, but they got attended to. I was not asked to do a "membership update". I don't know why, but I was glad!
I like the location, it is close by lots of places within walking distance. We were able to rent a paddle board right up the street and carry it across to the beach.
The staff was great. They were helpful and attended to all requests.
I enjoy my Worldmark membership very much.
We have stayed at Birch Bay, Victoria, Eagle Crest, Seaside, Oceanside, West Yellowstone, Leavenworth, Canmore.

Loan and Borrow Room /Kiheo- There is a back area behind the retail display wall, where members leave things for others to use. It's easy to get boogie boards there without renting, more commonly kid size. On Several trips we have been able to pick up boards, beach chairs and umbrella for our family to use within the first few days of a trip. Check back often as things come and go quickly and you should find what you need. If you are staying a while and plan to use it a lot or you are big it might be worth your while to just pick up one at costco. Don't buy the ones at the ABC store IMO, they are cheap and break. Have Fun!

First time at Kihei, enjoyed the location, overall the usual good (not the excellent from previous years) WM experience. From my experience:

My main complaint is about the resortNet internet. While adversing wireless 'high speed' access, there is no mention of what speeds are actually there. Never got above 1.2 mbps down and 0.2 mbps up, regardless of time of day, (in bldg 4). This is even with indication of a good connection and 802.11n. If you need actual high speed, such as streaming, downloading updates or any files of any size or even getting on some websites, you'll need to hit starbucks or someplace else. (why is WM using resortnet at all? Charging by the number of devices in today's world of ubiquitous internet devices? Charging for dial up speeds? Let's gouge the owners!!)

addendum/edit: talked with tech support and the 1.2 down and 0.2 up is "where you are supposed to be at"; so anyone needing to do anything more than checking email while here, make other plans for access. I guess 1.2 mbps upload is considered 'fast' for WM.

The usual pressure at check in to attend a 'owners' meeting, that gets real old.
