Hi There,

I am planning to either visit Discovery Bay (townhouse like?) or Deer Harbor (cabins like) during summer in late July or August and wanted to know the pro's and con's of each resort or a comparison between the two.

Hope other members can share their experience between these 2 resorts.

For Discovery Bay, how is the indoor hot tub and swimming pool? Just not a big fan of a hot tub indoor...

For Deer Harbour, I understand that there are 11 studio deluxe units out of 16 units in total and the studio units have the better chance of getting direct water view, right?
Having your own private hot tub in your unit @ Deer Harbour must be great!

For either resorts, any oceanview directly from your unit? If not, how easy is it to find a good open common area on the resort to relax with some oceanview? Is it windy like Seaside? Just a long sleeve t-shirt during the day? How easy or difficult to plan the ferry?
How new and updated are the furniture and kitchen? Stone counter top or laminate?

Please share which unit type you stayed or provide your personal knowledge about the different unit types for both resort.

Thank You in advance.

If you like some insight info on Vancouver-DT or Whistler resorts, feel free to PM me. Whistler is closed due to Covid until July 31-2020.

I am looking for a place t come with my kids and grandkids next year in late Spring. The grands will be ages 3 - 6. Is there much to do in the area for this age? Is there beach access nearby? Last time I was there (about 6 years ago) the pool was way over chlorinated and none of us could swim in it, has that improved?

We just got back from a short trip to Victoria and were considering going to Discovery Bay but my daughters looked a "Trip Advisor" and it has some really bad reviews. Trip Advisor and Yelp may be better ways to get information about a resort than here. We drove through and and looked around and it may have been wonderful in it's day but is looking a little shabby and the pool gets really terrible reviews.

I was wondering if there is a sandy beach near the resort?
