Though not having an ocean view, the back units do have a private hot tub on each unit deck. In front units, all first floor units have open deck to grass common area which leads to the large pool area, restaurant and swimbar, no stairs or elevator required.

The "front" units or the penthouse units all face the Sea of Cortez. You don't want the "back" units - they do not have any view. The penthouses are the very top floors. We were on the 3rd or 4th floor in a regular unit and had a beautiful view! It is a really nice resort!

How much is the exchange rate in Mexico? We have never been to Cabo but have a week reserved for the last week in May and am curious how much to take for spending, food etc.
After reading posts by others, it doesn't look like we will need a rental car. However, what if we want to see some "history". Is there much to learn about the area? If so, is there tours available?
Does public transit go to Costco and/or other larger shopping areas? Thanks so much.

Hi all, we are planning a trip to this resort early 2012, however, I am very confused about "what type" of room to book. There is the 2 BR Back, 2BR Front, 2BR Penthouse, 3BR Penhouse - what is the difference between them all? I tried emailing the resort directly but have heard nothing. If any of you that have already been there could let me know which is the "most desired" location for view of the ocean, I would greatly appreciate it! Of course, any other inforamtion would be helpful too. Thanks!

We have a two-bedroom penthouse unit booked for July 24-31, 2011. We will be going through a remodel and are considering selling since it is a "use it or lose it" situation for us. How would I go about this? Thanks!

How can you tell if a penthouse will have the rooftop deck or not?

I am interested in scuba diving. Im a beginner and only went once in Hawaii. There is a dive shop I am looking into that is in Cabo San Lucas. They have good reviews and maybe even the best rates. Ill be there from Apr 27 to May 3 and want to dive at least once.

Hi. This is my first time posting and going to Mexico. I will be going next week and am excited! So, I am in the process of booking with trans Cabo. They ask for my cc number to be faxed or emailed. I was wondering if the people who have gone this route found this to be safe. Also, I was told that the drivers will only wait 20 min after our flight lands. Is this sufficient time for me to get out if the airport from the time I land? I'm wondering if I should just book through the resort or take a cab. Thank you in advance!

Hi,
We usually book with Trans Cabo but our friends used Cabo Life this time by accident and it was quick and convenient. We too stopped using the WM one after twice being left to wait for more passengers for a very long time. We just grabbed a cab back to the airport, didn't prebook and they charged us $20 for 8 people. From what others said it was MUCH more to get from airport to CB. I think our friends paid $12 each.
I would say bring your netbook. The wireless is great in the lobby but patchy in the units and/or on the balconies. We had 5 units a few weeks ago, spread around the two front buildings, and those with wireless only devices found it frustrating trying to hang onto a wireless signal even when logged into Resortnet. Now the ethernet wasn't perfect either but much more reliable. An important Skype phone conversation using the wireless ended being terribly frustrating for one of our party - they had to run to the lobby to conclude it.
Enjoy!

Hi I am looking for current information on the best way to get from the airport to the resort. About 4 years ago I booked through WM and we had to wait about 2 hours while they waited for more passengers to arrive. How much is a cab ride usually? If anyone has good current advice, I would really appreciate it. Also, if I can't afford to be off the grid am I best off with my netbook (ethernet for resortnet) or ipad (wireless only)? Thanks!

If anyone is interested, i will be dropping my vacation week to CB tomorrow at about noon mountain time. We booked the 3 bedroom penthouse from November 4-13. Hopefully a Worldmark member can get it before the Timeshare companies. Thanks.

Hello We will be visiting this resort between May8th-May17th with our 22 months old twin babies.. I have couple of questions.. if anyone have an answer, I really appreciate it..
We booked a 1 bedroom deluxe, we are hoping the room will have an ocean view..did anyone stayed in this type of room?
We wont have a car.. Is there a close grocery shopping? any walking distance restaurants? Also if we need diaper and wipes is there any store close by? or we should rent a car to go shopping and restaurants?
Also we were planing to purchase transfers from airport to resort.. is anyone know good, safe company that we can arrange transportation ?
Any tips that can be useful with toddlers will be appreciated.. Thank you so much in advance..

Can anyone tell me where I can find a link to a list of must have items to pack for a week in Cabo? I thought I saw one somewhere a couple of months back, but now I cannot find it. I way over-packed when I came down in October and don't want to make the same mistake twice. Loved Coral Baha, can't wait to come back.... ten days and counting!

Breta,
Thanks for the info, hubby is happy to be able to use his own computer. We always use the resortnet in the states so it's nice to know they have it now.

The tv is not like US. There are no ABC, CBS or NBC. It is a combination of Spanish & English sometimes even on the same channel different times of the day. There is one channel, I think it is called the American channel, that has some current programming from various networks about a week or two late. About the only channels like US are CNN & FOX news. Linda: Cabo has "RESORTNET" available in all units for a fee of $4.95 per day or $15.95 for 10 days, which is what I did taking my netbook with me for the two weeks we were there. Also, in the lobby area there is a computer room that have 5 computers and 1 printer available for owners and guests. It was great having my computer everyday and easy to hook up to.

Hi There: We just returned from 14 glorious days at Coral Baja. Like Chuck ( a couple of posts back), it had been 11 years since we were there, WOW, what alot of changes, but all for the good. The staff was the greatest and the resort just beautiful. We also did not have a car, never needed it, San Jose Del Cabo is our favorite, only went to Cabo one day. Can't wait to go back, it sure won't be 11 years this time. March of 2013 is our next trip and this time for 3 weeks, it's sure better than all this rain and grey sky's in the PNW>

Just got back from the Coral Baja yesterday. We used Grayline for transportion. $28 round trip per person. The resort can set up transportation also. $24 I used my Visa card for 95% of everything. You get the best exchange rate. I also used my ATM card for cash. Again the best exchange rate. We didn't rent a car. Walk to teh store and take a cab back for 50 pasos. The bus to Cabo is 27 pasos one way. You will enjoy teh resort. We were there 10 years ago and a lot of things have changed. We plan on making this a year trip. One of te top 5 resorts in World Mark

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but we've been cruising on the east coast and I didn'yt see your post. Hopefully, you noticed the Rosarito forum and read some of the posts there. Rosarito is safe; we live in Rosarito and love it. The news reports you see report things that have happened and they are true--but Mexico is a big country. There's no way you'd stay away from visiting the Grand Canyon in Arizona because of border incidents in El Paso--and that's what you're looking at. Juarez is across the border from El Paso--that's a long way from Rosarito. By the same token, the murder rate is New Orleans is higher than the murder rate in Tijuana--but American tourists continue to rush to New Orleans even though the city itself is really not very safe. Take the news reports for what they are: really playing up the violence in Mexico; if they did that for the U.S., none of us would ever go anywhere!
