Have you stayed at WorldMark's Las Vegas - Tropicana resort? Here's your chance to tell other owners what it's really like. How big is the pool? How hot is the hot tub? What do you wish you had known before you left home?

I was in Las Vegas in February for business and rather than stay at the conference motel, I decided to use four nights at Las Vegas Tropicana and stay more comfortably. This was my first stay at Tropicana, though my husband and I have stayed at the Blvd property several times and the Spencer St property once before. I arrived about two hours before check-in, but was grateful that they had a room ready for me. Because I was alone and without a car, the woman at check-in also placed me nearby the front office - I think building 4. I appreciated the concern very much! I declined the offer for an update and the sales staff never bothered me again about it - something else to really appreciate! They offer hourly transportation to the strip and grocery shopping. I didn't use these, so cannot speak to them.

Everything in the one-bedroom ground floor worked perfectly. Everything was clean and updated. WorldMark seems to be getting it with regard to comfortable beds, because again, the beds were wonderfully comfortable and I got a good night's sleep every night.

I'm still having a problem with the BOD's decision to eliminate the one-hour adult-only pool time in the morning and evening. Unless you're into screaming kids, it is no fun to be at the pool and Tropicana was no exception.

Despite the screaming kids at the pool, I would go to this property again and recommend it to my friends.

Recently stayed here for two nights the beginning of July 2017. We have been coming to the Tropicana location for years now. Not sure if we will come back or recommend anyone else to stay there. Carpets were absolutely filthy! The small section of carpet just leaving the kitchen into the dining area had so much crumbs and food built up between the baseboard and carpet it was all I could do to hold it in. Toe kicks and baseboard in bathrooms were rotten and moldy as well. The outside stairways were very dingy and dirty as well. In addition the shuttle service from the resort to downtown is using an even smaller van now that only holds 14 passengers. We have had two bad experiences when it comes time to catch the shuttle back to the resort from Caesars Palace. There needs to be a distinct waiting area as people tend to be rude and butt in line while waiting for the shuttle. I realize that this is a courtesy they are providing but the old vans were a lot nicer and held a lot more people. Also as seen in prior reviews the pressure by the sales staff is overbearing and I find myself unplugging the phone each time we have visited there. Lots of improvements need to take place before I will ever set foot there again.

I just took my first trip to Vegas with two friends that had never been as well... We had a fantastic time. I had a Wyndham unit in building 18 facing the street and it gets noisy but we were able to survive. I found the shuttle to be extremely helpful and its schedule was fine going from the reaort to Orleans at 10 minutes before the hour, Ceasar (strip) at 5 minutes after the hour and arrive at around 20 minutes after only to leave on the half hour and it was very reliable. The staff was professional and I went to the presentation and messed around and learned a couple things (I guess that it is just a matter of what you put into it.) The airport is 20 minutes away on the bus with a transfer regular fare $3.

Las Vegas Tropicana-Just got back from our first trip to Vegas using WorldMark. We have been owners since 1987 and I'm getting pretty tired of the pressure to attend the presentations they have. The condo was small, which is ok as we were there for the shows anyway. Bed was comfortable but the living room was pretty stiff. The TV was set pretty high on the wall so you were looking up all the time. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and polite. Don't like the pressure of the sales pitch though. Last time I sat in on one of those we had to teach the presenter the way things worked. Please let us just say no thank you. I don't want a phone call later saying "are you sure".

Just returned from a quick trip to Las Vegas Tropicana. We have also stayed at the Boulevard resort.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit on the second floor. The check in was very smooth. No pressure tactics to attend a presentation during check-in....although our plane was delayed significantly and we didn't arrive to the property until after 1:00 AM. I think the agent realized we were tired and "not in the mood" to do anything but go to sleep.

We did get a phone call on day two. I didn't answer the phone because I didn't want to give up any of my limited time to go to a presentation. They then placed a flyer in the door inviting us to come to the lobby and retrieve our "free gift." We didn't.

There is a shuttle that runs once daily to the grocery story, at the top of every hour to the Orlean's casino up the street, and at the half hour every hour to Caeser's Palace. We never took the shuttle to the grocery store because we were only there for 3 days. The shuttle drivers were very knowledgeable and one was friendly smile

There are several hot tubs throughout the property located between buildings. I visited the hot tub once in the early morning as it would have been too hot to go mid-day in July. The pool seemed rather small and was consistently filled with children. We did not opt to go to the pool on this trip.

The property is located on a very busy road. There is a walgreens, denny's, starbucks, and various other eateries about 3 blocks east. I walked to walgreen's twice during the trip. Be warned the sidewalks are narrow and the traffic travels at a high rate of speed. Speaking with locals later, they advised Tropicana is frequented by working ladies at night, but I never saw any.

The rooms were very nicely laid out. The bed was very comfortable. The couch - not so much, but it served it's purpose. The water pressure was rather low, but also got the job done. The balcony was barely enough for two chairs and tables - but again it served it's purpose.

We will definitely stay again. While the property is not as large as the Boulevard property with the amenities of the Boulevard, it was nice to not have as many people on the property. It served its purpose and we enjoyed our stay.

Anyone know the difference between a "Deluxe" 2 Bedroom Queen, versus a Non Deluxe 2 Bedroom Queen????
The room description on the website don't indicate any difference, but the points sure do.

Our family has had a WorldMark ownership since 1996. We have stayed in dozens of resorts across 5 western states. We were not impressed with our first visit to Las Vegas Tropicana and here is why.

1) Customer service. Very poor. The front desk was not very helpful and upon check in the representative refused to give me a parking pass unless I signed up for an owner presentation, which I did not want to do.

2) Amenities. Not very spacious grounds, with tight parking spots and small pool/hot tub area. Main building area is ok, but not a lot of options for things to do. Nice to have free shuttle over to the strip but it didn't run frequent enough so there were big crowds to get on each time we rode it and only one stop is very limiting.

3) Room. Poor layout and not very clean. Furniture was not comfortable. Also, not very quite.

4) Location. Close to the main strip, but the area is not very desirable. Tropicana Avenue is a VERY busy street and you can't really walk anywhere nice.

Stayed at the LV Tropicana last week. 2 BR/2BA unit on the second floor facing west. (There are 3 floors)

PROS: Bedding. Office has movies, games, nice gym, pool table, vending, gift shop. Albertsons grocery store is .5 mi to the west. Near cheaper restaurants and quieter off the strip.

CONS: Kitchen, living, & dining room are tiny. Furniture is clunky and uncomfortable. No free Internet except in office. Soap, shampoo & conditioner are provided but they're awful.

TIPS:
Don't get a room facing Tropicana Ave. It's a busy, busy 7 lane road. Nice park across the street.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit for a week October 6-13. Unit was clean, roomy enough for 4 adults, and recently updated. Shuttle ran on schedule and drivers-Tracy, Darrell, and Danny- were friendly and helpful. Wish there was another stop besides Caesars on the strip to eliminate some of the walking. Another suggestion would be for the installation of blackout curtains. The master bedroom faces the parking lot and it was almost like daylight in the room all night. We called security at 250 AM to talk to the VERY loud neighbors who had their tv on full blast--I think they were trying to stay up until they had to leave for the airport (not quietly!) at 430 AM! Most WM owners are respectful of the quiet times for resorts though. Next time we may stay at the Boulevard, just for something different, though we really liked the Tropicana!

This resort met our expectations in all areas but one. The staff was exceptional, as was the cleanliness of the unit. The grounds were beautiful and it was very convenient being so close to the strip and having the use of the shuttle. The negative was that we usually book a 1 bedroom for 3 of us. It does not work well at this resort. The Murphy Bed is behind the sofa, so to open the bed you need to move 2 foot stools, a coffee table and the sofa; hence, it takes up the whole room and part of the dining room leaving no where to sit while watching TV. When we moved the sofa, we found that the sofa had no back. The sofa cushions were supported by the Murphy Bed until the sofa was moved, then all the cushions fell off of the sofa. We had a backless sofa with no room to sit on it. The room would have been great if there were only 2 of us, or if the sofa had a back on it. We stayed at all the 3 of the Vegas Worldmarks and for fun things to do, we recommend The Blvd and for relaxation, we recommend Spencer St.

Stayed at: Red River, Taos, Rancho Vistoso, Bison Ranch, Phoenix, Pinetop, Steamboat Springs, Oceanwalk-Daytona Beach, Grand Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, Branson, Indio, Big Bear, Oceanside, Spencer St. and Vegas on the Blvd. Also Pagosa Springs(Wyndham)

We just spent a week at Las Vegas Tropicana. We were disappointed because we couldn't get into Las Vegas Blvd., which is one of our favorites. However,I cannot say enough good things about Tropicana! Let me start by saying that we are very picky owners & expect a lot form our resorts & staff. We only had a couple of minor issues which is to be expected anywhere you stay. This is a beautiful, quiet, restful resort a couple of miles away from the hustle & bustle of the strip. A joy to come back to at the end of a busy day in the casinos & shops. We used the resort shuttle & public transportation, which is just a few minutes walk from the resort, & had no need to rent a car. The grounds here are just beautiful & very shady. The unit itself was spacious, clean, & met the standards we expected. Groceries & restaurants are very close by & easily accessible. Don't miss 'The Orleans' just a few blocks away! It was a great place & had the best, most affordable buffet we have had in a long time. We had never been there & truly enjoyed having it so close by. We took the bus there & back...so easy. There is no airport shuttle from the resort, so be sure to use the taxi company that the resort recommends as it is about half the cost of the others! This really was one of our best vacations in Las Vegas & we will definitely stay here again!

I am staying at this resort right now. It is nice and quiet, but certainly does not meet the standards that I am used to with other WorldMark locations. The carpet in our unit is beyond dingy, it is totally dirty and disgusting. I have never experienced anything like it. Our white socks are all stained from walking around in here without shoes on. It is something you would expect to see at a 1-star motel somewhere. Just terrible. It also took us three different communications over the course of 12 hours to get some glass cleaned up on the landing outside of our door. This was after my son stepped on it and we had to dig glass out of the bottom of his foot when he was leaving for the pool. They did express concern for my son and were very quick to see if we needed anything for the foot, which I appreciated. Beyond that, it is quiet, it is comfortable, and the grounds are lovely. I'm not sure I would return here though, if one of the other resorts in Las Vegas is available. On the plus side, I was told that they are getting ready to do major updates, and this was evidenced by the new construction supplies piled up all around the back of the parking lot. Hopefully one of those containers is full of new carpet.

Just returned from a visit to Sierra Vista, AZ and spent Memorial day weekend in Las Vegas. This was my second stay at the Tropicana and the first for my husband. I remember I was not that impressed the first time and this time only reinforced my opinion. The grounds are nice and well kept up. The staff were cheerful and very helpful. It was nice having a hot tub right around the corner.
Must say I miss not having a BBQ, though I understand the reasoning as this is a refurbished apartment complex. We were down two steps not a problem. Rather that than lugging all our gear up two flights as there are no elevators.
The shuttles ran on schedule, in fact don't be 30 seconds late or you get to wait an hour. OK by me as I am usually on time, but not the laid back attitude usual in Las Vegas.
the bed in the master bedroom was great. I couldn't get a comment from our daughter who stayed in the second bedroom, so don't know about that.
Washer and dryer are on the patio in the sublevel apartment we were in. Would have been nice if this information were included somewhere.
The first night we were there a party raged until very early. Can't say what why security didn't calm it down, but it did not.
In my opinion this resort, while very attractive, is not worth the extra credits to stay. Spencer street is quieter and Las Vegas Blvd. has more pools and a BBQ on the balcony or patio. The main attraction is the Oleans Casino right down the street.

Hi,
we just returned from the worldmark Tropicana.
we arrived late in the evening, which made it very difficult, to find our room. the building numbers are way up on the top of the buildings and they do not have lights on them. we drove around looking, finally asking a security guard, and he was NOT very nice.
Our room ended up being down a couple steps, but the room number...was not in plain sight. It was more like and Easter egg hunt.
Looking at our room description on our printed flyer,I was with the understanding that we were on a 2nd or 3rd floor. I asked a couple different people and they told me , we would have had to reserved a Queen 2 bedroom to get up on the 2 nd or 3 rd.
The room was like being in a cave. we were hoping to see some sunshine from our room. I suppose if we had intended to party till dawn this would be the perfect room. so we just made sure we kept ourselves busy being out and only used our place to sleep, and have breakfast.
Please be sure and wear your flip flops as the caprpet was horrible dirty.
the pool was very nice. The facility was very nice. the grounds very nice.
There was a constant shuttle bus, going and coming, so it was also very convenient and the grocery store, Albertsons and Smiths were not far away.
I will be back to stay again, if only I know what kind of room to ask for to get upstairs instead of below ground.

stayed in a 1 bedroom Sept 2011. These units are close to the street on Tropicana and on the other side- housing. I booked it because it was closer to the strip and I thought we might have better access. The Orleans is close, but when the temp is 100 degrees- walking there is not comfortable. If you call for a cab- you just as well go to the strip. We asked about a bus and were given a schedule, but they didn't know where the bus stops are. As we left the cab driver told us the stop is outside the complex to the left about 100 feet. Not sure where the stop is coming back. They were also doing road work on Tropicana right in front of the complex.
They have been doing work on the metal soffets on the roof in the complex so it is noisy. They were unloading the metal components between 5-6am. Kids standing on the street waiting for the bus outside were noisy between 7-8am.
I got nervous when I got to the unit and saw the murphy bed. There was a sofa in front of it and didn't look like there was a place to move it. I tried pushing it - it was going no where. I knew we would be using it to sleep and was upset thinking about moving the sofa and where?
I called reception and they told me it was not hard to rearrange things, but there were no instructions in the unit. I asked to move to another unit where the murphy bed was usable.
They moved me- same situation w/ the bed- and now I had lost my quiet location for a noisy one. All they had to do was explain it to me.
The owner update was fine- but I left feeling bad that I had upset the sales persons numbers by not buying more units. Also I don't want to give my friends names and numbers. I think I am going to avoid the owner update from now on- which is too bad- I like hearing the little tricks on how to use the system.
I have stayed at the blvd before and like it better.
I would return there, but for 2-3 days in Vegas I would just stay on the strip.
both resorts have a shuttle but it only goes to Caesars. It is too bad they don't go to at least one resort that is not on the strip. Orleans, Palms, Rio or even the end of the strip- near MGM.
Not sure what our driver was doing- but she would show up at exactly the time she should be there to pick us up with no passengers and leave right on the count. Not even waiting 2-3 minutes incase someone was having trouble getting through the crowds. It does not take a half an hour to go between the resort and the strip.
It will be a good place to stay if you want a smaller place, not much interaction with others. Not many kids there or drunk younger adults but I was there during the week and only for 3 days.

Stayed at this resort in May 2010. Was in a 2 bedroom queen deluxe (special needs---first floor). Booking a special needs unit is the ONLY way to ensure ground/first floor accommodations. Really liked the unit, though not much of a patio/view from the ground floor levels.

Booked this resort for a second Vegas trip this month. Would like to have tried the "lazy river" and patio grilling opporunities of WM Las Vegas Blvd, however, I chose WM Tropicana to be closer to the strip, local restaurants, and grocery stores.

My only complaint/disappointment with my previous stay at WM Tropicana was that the "Owner Education Update" session turned out to be a high pressure sales pitch to buy additional credits. Recommend skipping this session unless you are of course interested in purchasing additional credits. I lost almost three hours of an afternoon to the high pressure sales pitch, despite having said multiple times... " I DO NOT want to purchase additional credits at this time." I will not make this mistake again, (at this resort location, or any other)!!!!! If you want a true "Owner Education" informational, check those listed under the "Owner Education" section on the WM homepage.

Met some really nice couples vacationing there last visit, which was reassuring as it was my first WM vacation since having become an owner. Expecting another good time in Vegas.

Have you already booked? There are specific units for special needs that would be wheelchair accessible, and are listed separately - book one of those. Otherwise you can call the resort about needing a 1st floor unit, but I don't think they necessarily will guarantee an accessible unit.

Do you have to make any arrangements to get a room on the first floor? Traveling with someone in a wheel chair. Only two hot tubs are mentioned (and pictured) but the listing says there are five. Anyone know how many there really are? and lastly, would you recommend for you 20 somethings as well as a senior?? Does anyone know how much larger the deluxe units are??

any new info would be appreciated .. Michelle
