Well I think you can't beat the blvd location as far as class and style. As a owner I would almost never considered any where else. Other than the very very very bad checkin experience,it's the best. For someone who wants to be on the strip, it my not be for you. The resort has a shuttle every 30 of 40 minutes I think? I came without a car and spent a lot of time on the strip. We used the shuttle for shopping and for fun trips to the strip.

The resort is one of the best Worldmark you're gonna stay at hands down. The rooms, the pools and the overall staff is among the top 5. You can shop for food and more with a short walk to a shopping center. There's also some nice restaurant nearby if you don't want to cook or hit the strip.

That my take for what it's worth.
Hope they have a great stay.

My son and daughter are planning a trip down to Vegas in the spring, this will be the first trip for both of them, and they would like to either stay at the Worldmark on the Blvd or on Spencer, I haven't stayed in either so I'm hoping to get some advice about which would be a better fit for their trip.
They want access to the strip, would appreciate a shuttle and/or access to public transportation, but don't mind taking a taxi when they have to. They have a few activities/restaurants/shows they want to do/see, but other than that, they're pretty flexible, so no ridge schedule or events they need to be at. They aren't too concerned with noise or little kids or anything like that. Having access to a hot tub, to rest weary feet, would be great, especially if the resort has more than one, even better.
Mainly they're looking for an easy place to rest, relax, and it won't cost them tons of $$ when they have to take a taxi to and from.
Any help/advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated! I've only been once, but it was years ago, and we stayed at the Luxor, so I'm not much help to them, unfortunately!

My daughter is there now and went to a sales presentation. She was told that if she didn't buy now she would never be able to buy an ownership like mine. No Travelshare, no RCI etc. That all she could get was a 40 year lease. I called Worldmark and was told that is not the case. Worldmark is the same and our children will be able to buy just as we have.

The product they were apparently selling is a Wyndham Vacation Ownership.

My problem is it was represented to her as WorldMark and this was all that was available to her now. Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Wondering if it is worth the points to get a 2 bedroom penthouse at this resort. Anyone have photos or been in the 2 bedroom penthouse?

You definitely want to stay at the Las Vegas Blvd resort if you are bringing children. They have 3 large pools plus a lazy river pool, basketball court and a huge game room.

The Red Rock Resort/Casino is quite far from the resort; however, if there is no traffic it is an easy drive once you're on the freeway. Maybe 20 minutes tops. I find the drive to Red Rock much less stressful than driving to the Strip casinos, even though the Strip is much closer.

The Tropicana Resort has smaller rooms and not much for kids to do. Although it is closer mileage-wise than Las Vegas Blvd, you will be driving through dozens of streetlights & intersections the whole length of Charleston to get to Red Rock.

Call the resort directly. They can tell you if they'll accept deliveries for guests and what address to use.

The resort provides a shuttle to/from the resort. Is there a charge for that shuttle?

Any ideas on how much a taxi costs to the strip? How about to Southtown Casino just a few miles from the resort?

From the airport, are we better taking a shuttle or a taxi? There are two of us.

Trying to decide if staying at this resort, or if the cost of transportation doesn't make it worth it.

Hi! We just returned from a 5 night stay at WorldMark, Las Vegas Boulevard. This resort is great. Only drawback, we had a room, that had no sunlight, so had to use the lights, it was to dark for us.
We found a Casino, we enjoyed more than the Strip. It was South Point. It was less smoky, newer, cleaner and had affordable meals. Best of all, it has a movie theatre. I'm not a gambler, so brought my book, sat outside on bench or inside on couch in hotel registration area, while my husband gambled. $10 cab ride with tip.

Hi marianddion
Are you staying at the Las Vegas Blvd or the Tropicana? I have stayed at the Vegas Blvd location while some work was being done and it did not affect my stay at all.I have also stayed at Seaside Or,Running Y Or and other during construction and still had a great time.WM is very good at managing the start and stop times of the work.Seaside was the biggest job I've ever seen done and I stayed there three times during the work. For me it was still a great stay.

Arriving in Las Vegas March 13 and staying @ the Tropicana Resort.
I received an email stating that the resort is being refurbished and construction crews will be busy working during our stay. Has anyone stayed at the resort during this construction phase? Can you relax by the pool or is it going to be a mess filled with dust, paint fumes, plastic tarps and noise noise noise none stop? Please be honest ... nothing is worse than expecting a nice peaceful & relaxing place to return to after an adventerous day and regreting the place you have picked. Thanks for your help!!

We flew into Vegas on a Sunday and I had looked up the transportation system online and decided to save the money and ride the city bus. It picks you up at the airport it was inexpensive and we learned enough about the bus to use it again when O'bama ended up in town and the WM shuttle couldnt get to the pick up site. There is a grocery store that we actually went shopping at close enough to walk to...but then again I am adventurous and frugal. Make sure when you are taking WM shuttle to the strip you get to lobby early as it fills up fast.

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I will be staying at the Boulevard location in April. I noticed that when we booked that they suggested taking a shuttle bus from door #8 at the airport? Has anyone taken this shuttle? Price? Was it worth it? Do you think it'd be better than a taxi?

Thanks!! grin

I have stayed at both Vegas blvd and Spencer. When we go down to visit our grandkids, they LOVE the lazy river. We have had no complaints. On Spenser street there was no lifeguard that we ever saw. We did get a ride form the WM shuttle and it was a very exciting ride to the strip. Spencer st is where one would go if they want peace and quiet. Very laid back and more "homey" feel since it is a converted apt complex as well. Either way, we enjoy both places for different reasons. We havent stayed at the Trop one, but our daughter did and she said it did not live up to expectations... dirty carpets and smelled in her unit

Red Rock Casino is at I-215 and Charleston. None of the WorldMark resorts are very close. It is about 17 miles from the Las Vegas Blvd location and 10 miles from the Tropicana resort. We have friends who live near the Red Rock Casino and if I remember right it is about a 25 to 30 minute drive from the Las Vegas Blvd WorldMark. I don't know what public transportation might be available, we always have our car in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Blvd is about a mile from the actual Strip. You go past MGM, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and you'll run into the Las Vegas Blvd resort. It has a great lazy river and pool area - if it is warm enough to swim. I actually think the Red Rock Casino might be out in that area as well. I pulled up a map of the Strip casinos, but Red Rock was not shown. But I do remember seeing a large casino/resort as we were driving to the WorldMark.

Just need to clarify about the transportation from the airport. Taxi ride is only $18? It makes sense for 4 of us to pay for a taxi instead of $8 each for the shuttle. The punctuality is priceless when catching the flight home.

Can I get a confirmation on this for an experienced traveler?
Thanks for your time!

The Las Vegas Blvd. resort is older in the system than the Tropicana resort, but was built specifically for WorldMark. The Tropicana resort was originally an apartment complex that was renovated for WM. My personal opinion is that the Blvd resort is more like a resort and Trop is more like an apartment - nice, but feels like an apartment. The one br we stayed in was smallish. But then the Blvd resort is huge compared to the Trop resort, with far more people and all that goes with them. The Trop is quieter. Teens would probably love the blvd one.

Hi all, I am confused about which of the Vegas resorts are newer. The Tropicana requires more credits for the same unit, but I keep hearing that the Las Vegas Blvd is the newer resort. We have two girls, ages 12 and 15... which resort should we go to? Thanks for any advice!

We have stayed at both of those Las Vegas resorts many times and never had any significant problems. A few maintenance issues which a call to the office usually corrects. Bear in mind that people with complaints are more likely to post here than those who enjoy their stays. The Las Vegas Blvd resort has 400 units. With the average WorldMark reservation of 3 to 4 nights that means 800 people are checking in and out every week. You have to expect a few of them to complain.

The Spencer Street location is a converted apartment complex, the Blvd location was built from the ground up as a resort. Given a choice we always choose the Las Vegas Blvd resort. Nicer units, nicer location. We have two upcoming reservations to visit the Las Vegas Blvd resort again. Go for it, it is a nice resort.

A note on the shuttle - DON'T.

The concierge made a reservation - I was standing right there and LVL shuttle never showed up.

This is the second time I've been hosed by a shuttle company that Worldmark has recommended. The first was in Anaheim in June. Same thing. Concierge called in reservation- they never showed.

Come to find out that the shuttle company is basically useless and are usually late IF they show up at all. So, you're better off just doing the taxi. They are always in the parking lot.

It's about 18.00 to the airport.

Saw a post a while back regarding the 3 bedroom penthouse. I echo that. We were there in April, and the 3 BR penthoue was very disappointing. It's large, but the main room is mainly carpet. 2 chairs, 1 sofa, TV, standard dining room table with 6 chairs, some foo foo on the wall, but that's about it. Kitchen was standard Worldmark - nice and very useful, but nothing special. Cannot compare in any way to the penthouses at Cabo (where we have stayed) or Indio (which we have seen), both of which are spectacular, with amenities and comforts befitting a penthouse, at least as I understand it. Save your credits, and forego the penthouse, in my opinion. Other than that, the resort was fine, but see below for another minor gripe.

One more thing - the concierge was unusually unhelpful. We asked for a recommendation for a "local" restaurant, off the Strip, where the locals go for a good meal. Response: "All I can think of is Outback". Give me a break.

smile We just returned from the BLVD last Monday. We had read all of the recent reviews and made a few additional modificatins to our plans to adjust to possible outcomes.. for example. All the noise complaints, and flat screen remodeling dust.. I called the day before, spoek with a frotn desk manager. Explained i havea small child with athsma and needed to try to get ar oom far from "construction". she was happy to assist, and Gave me a name and number to contact her the day of our reservations. Ther was an additional 1 hr wait when we arrived at the location, due to them takign extra care to clean our room. The room was overlookign the lazy river ( 2br twin) first thing we did was push the two twins together, and added foam mattress toppers and personal linnens to both rooms. this made the ( nwo two kings) very comfortable.. other wise they are firm! my 5 yr old spent 4 days straight 9 am to 10 pm in the lazy river. this was his first time at a pool and he was in heaven! The life guards were just as laid back as the parents.. and i found talking to people at the front desk and aroudn the resort liek they are people, not servants.. got us alot!! there WAS a young lady who spent her 2 hrs waiting for her room screeming profanities at the poor staff and demandind credits and gift cards... needless to say i saw her at the pool day 2 and she said she was in a far room with a view of the parkign lot (LOL)
the rooms are well used, btu the ammenities allow for easy clean up and havgin a wash adn drier was very nice..

the cons on our trip:
the food 4 less near the hotel stoel my credit card info and charge 667 dollars in 24 hrs, then locked out use of my card... this sucked.. but not worldmarks fault! just eb warned! the room was nto ready at 4pm, but there is so much to do in vegas.. who cares? we spent the 1hr gettign wet in our cloths at the pool to stay cool! ..the pool is mostly 3 ft deep, all of it!.. oh!! and I got ring worm our 5th day from using the "dry" pool towels!! * mental note to bring my own towels and wash my own!* sad to say that will leave a nasty scar =( and last but not least the shuttle.. we took the shuttle back from the strip, the lot that you wait in for the shuttle is shady.. like scary shady.. at 11pm i was in heals and a mini skirt..and felt like at any minute someone could have cornered us for our belongings... ** mental note.. drive car to strip, or take taxi!!

we did get a limo from presidential limo.. did a mini strip tour! it was the only reason i would have dragged ourselves form the awesome pools..
