Here are some videos we found online as we were looking for pictures of a 2 bedroom penthouse. We'll be in one in April and are looking forward to it! Hold on...they are VERY jerky!

I would like to plan another trip to Coral Baja - but this time, we want to bring another couple with us. During our last visit, we toured a few of the penthouses and they were amazing. I was wondering if anyone had photos of the units we might show our friends? Also, we would gladly take any advice about which unit we should rent - the 2 or 3 bedroom. Although we don't need the thrid bedroom, if the unit itself was nicer, we would certainly "spend" the points.

I am traveling to the resort on 12/03/2011;

What is the most efficient way to get there from the airport? This is our first time to Cabo, but when we went to Puerto Vallarta we used local bus system and it was amazingly efficient.

Yes, you can use a debit or credit card at Mega. By the way, the meat and bakery depts have gotten way better in the past couple of years.

My husband and three buddies went out fishing with Dave March 2010. They said he was very friendly but between 4 guys they only got 4 fish and when they got to their rooms only 2 were in the bag. Not sure what happened to the other 2?? He was a bit pricey in our humble opinion.

Loretta,

Phase 1 and Phase 3 are beside the pool and beach. Phase 2 is the back building by the road. Hope that helps.

Hi Kodiak,

The studios have a 2 burner stove and counter seating, there is no oven or dining table. I hope that helps. Shell

Can we use our Debit card at the Mega to buy our groceries or do we need to get cash first? We have been to Cabo and stayed at Coral Baja many times but it has been severals years since our last visit and I don't remember if we could use our card there.

Hey, we're heading to CB in 3 weeks (Nov 1st to 10th) and I was wondering if there is a Fitness Center or workout facility there. I can't see any info on the Resort Guide about one. Would one of the CB veterans mind letting me know if I should pack my running shoes for the trip? thanks

We love the convenience of having a car. The road (and there is only one except for those actually in the towns) is a 4 lane divided highway--driving isn't a problem.

We've rented for $150.00 a week (many times less). By the time you figure going to and from the airport and a couple of times into town plus a day trip or two, you've more than paid for the car, and the convenience is wonderful. You can shop for groceries easily, go to out of the way restaurants and not be limited to those on "the tourist drag," leave when you want to and come home when you want to.

There are public buses which are cheap, but obviously, you travel on their schedule. There are no buses for day trips.

Anyway, for us, having a car is a no-brainer.

We were in Cabo two years ago. We signed up for the time share presentation so we got our ride to and from the airport for free. But from the list of prices, taxi seems to be cheaper if you go with a big group or you can pay for shuttle. The taxi ride back from the resort to the airport was much cheaper.

P.S. If you are not planning to rent a car then be prepare to spend money on taxi rides from the resort to downtown cabo. The resort is about 30 minutes from downtown cabo and it was $70 round trip for us back then. Nothing much to do in downtown san jose del cabo.

There are several local buses that run all day to about 9 pm.. Green ones, blue ones and red ones. They are the smaller buses not the fancy Greyhound looking ones. It's 20 miles from CB to Cabo and the buses stop a lot. Maybe 30 mins each way......We think it's fun to ride them. Cheap transportaion. When you get to Cabo they let you off on a side street across from the Mall. When you return, you have to walk up the main road, north(coming out of the mall it's to your right) about 800 feet and you will see people waiting for the bus. When you are coming back, look for La Jolla and CB will be just past it , yell out Coral Baja and the driver will stop....Try to have the correct pesos for each way, it's much easier than trying to figure it out on thethe bus.>>>>>>>Have fun!

Loretta,

Phase 2 is the back building by the highway. All units you book are facing the pool and ocean UNLESS you specifically book a two bedroom back building unit.

One bedroom delux is not much larger but has entrances to the bathroom from the bedroom and the hallway. If someone is sleeping on the Murphy bed in the living room it gives everyone more privacy, if not, it doesn't really matter.

John

Planning to go to Cabo in 2012. This will be the second WM resort I have visited, so I am still very much a newbie. I've read posts indicating that there is a public bus that runs from WMCB to Cabo San Lucas. Can anyone share the amount of travel time it takes to get there by bus and the hours the bus is in service (24hrs?, 8am-1am? etc. Thanks.

Noah-- There's plenty of info in the "restaurants" thread about the Cabo/ San Jose area. Very generally speaking, the more recent the suggestion/review, the more accurate. Of course, there are many long-running restaurants/bars all over the place---- in Cabo, San Jose, AND in between----. There's LOTS of good (and cheap!) places among them! We most always eat maybe half of our meals in the room. Large and really good stores (Costco, Mega, Walmart (?), etc) have great meats, fish, produce, refreshments, and the rest. But DO treat yourself to at least a few trips to the local restaurants!!!!!! The setting, service, freshness, quality, (and even the prices!-- at some), are fantastic and unforgettable. We prefer some of the places around San Jose over Cabo proper. I'll quickly reccommend dinner at Cynthia's (look for the carrot!), Zipper's (walking distance from the resort), and/or ANY small taco stand that looks "busy", the place right out front of the resort, (name escapes me), and of course, maybe a beer or three on the top deck at Shooters. Have a BLAST! We have to wait till May '12. PS----- CaboBill, are you out there/ How ya doin??????........... the Coach.

I appreciate CHEAP. Some ideas: We have always done well by buying groceries at Mega - walking there and taking a cab back with our groceries for $5.00. Buy your drinks there also. Price and quality is really very good. Cook in room and on the grills. We hit Happy Hour several times a week at the pool but that's it. Take the Worldmark presentation that they push pretty hard and hold out for $75 resort credit. Put that towards a credit on your account and eat at Mama Mia's several times. Several restaurants downtown are authentic, great and very reasonable. El Guacamaya and Taco Rossy's come to mind. For a really nice meal without breaking the bank, walk down to Zipper's. Enjoy your stay.

Cabo is known for good food--and definitely, your best meals (both in taste and price) will be off-resort.

We are planning to stay at Coral Baja the end of January and have booked a 2BR - I am hoping to either extend the stay a few days or book another room. This is our description. • Two Bedroom: King in master, twins in second bedroom, queen murphy bed in living area. 3/4 bathrooms only. Located in Phase 3. Can anyone tell me which building this is in for adding another reservation? Thanks in advance!

The resort wrote me back and I gave them the confirmation numbers of our two units. They wrote back and said they would do there best to place as close as possible. It may take a few days but they do repond to your questions. One spa will be down the first week of Oct according to Worldmark info. Hope to see you there.

I would like a copy of DENBO's vacation packet (gootaz@cs.com). Also noticed that the link for Translife Cabo—Airport Shuttle and Tour Guide does not work. Is this still a valid company to use? What are the other current options.

You can write the resort and give them your confirmation #'s and tell them that you need two units close. Sometimes calling the worldmark office they can reley messages. I understand that one of the pools and one spa is under construction during those last weeks as we are coming down also. That might be info to check on also.
cbresort@nautilius.org.mx is email address of resort
