Hello everyone, We are heading to Coral Baja for a second time next May and will be inviting our neighbours who are celebrating their 50th birhtdays. We have always stayed in the two bedroom floor level units because of our kids. What is the difference between a one bedroom floor unit and one bedroom deluxe unit? It has been three years since we were there and we are going to book them a one bedroom unit but also want to be close to them. Are there any new grocery stores outside of La Comer and Chedrauj? I would love to find a butcher store for some really good meat while we are there if anyone has any recommendations. We will be renting a car so can drive to find a good butcher.
Last time we were there we went to this small restaurant that had a tree in the middle of it that was five minutes from the resort heading east. Two blocks off the main drag but the food was fantastic and the drinks were extremely cheap. They had a guy all dressed up who was singing while we were eating. If someone can send me the name of that restaurant that would be great. We were eating with all the locals and had a great time!!!

Becky, did you look into taking uber from the airport vs the shuttle? Wondering if there is much of a cost difference. Thank you,

Went after Christmas 2020 - was beautiful as always! No COVID test required in/out of Mexico/States (not the case anymore).

Pool and swim up bar is open! Must "reserve" spot by the pool day before, but not enforced. People sat, swam, did whatever. Resort was only at 25% capacity, felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Can walk to La Comer & Chedruai - about 5-10 minutes. Walk up, Uber back with groceries. Very easy.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - take the resort shuttle they offer to/from the airport. The first time we went, we rented a car, and that was a 2 hour disaster. Just don't. This last time, we Uber'd everywhere, including downtown Cabo. So easy, and I think cheaper than renting.

Restaurant on site still operational - great food.

Have a great time!

Grocery stores include La Comer (The Eating) and Chedraui across the street. La Comer has all the basics and things like a salsa/guacamole bar, good meats and seafood. Chedraui (across the street) is worth a visit just to see the in-store sushi bar, wine bar and other upscale amenities. Both are a moderate walk from Coral Baja, you may want to take a cab back if you buy a lot and don't have a rental car. There is a less expensive grocery store that the locals use if your Spanish is pretty good (staff at Coral Baja can give directions).

The best way to find out is to call the resort directly.

Phase one and phase three have views of the pool/ocean so you are good to go there. I book excursions there. If you listen to their training on your ownership they usually give you something. I was there last year and there is not a high pressure sale, so no worries about that.

There are two grocery stores that are walking distance. La Comer and another one accross the street. You can walk there and take a taxi back.

As I recall it just means that the bathroom has a door from the bedroom and the hallway.

Is there more than one bathroom in the one bedroom deluxe? Specifically, is there a half bathroom?
Thanks

According to the Gringo Gazette Chris Snell has plans to construct a 181 room hotel with 36 residents and 3 restaurants. Old timers (remember the old coach and Cabo Bill) will remember the trailer park and restaurant that sat there for many years. Expected start date February 2020. For newer folks it is next to Coral Baja.

Has anyone traveled to Coral Baja during the hurricane season? On the website it says it starts in August. I booked a stay for August 6-9th. How is the weather during that time?

We have always brought inflatable pool floaties in the past, are these still allowed? They are just to float around the pool and read.
Also.... where is the closest and best grocery store. We used to always have groceries delivered but cannot find that company anymore.

Thanks... we are excited to be there the end of this month.

They have some helpful folks in the lobby that can set up excursions. I have not used them, but I know many others that have and have not had any issues. Know this - you will be asked to do an "update" and if you sit through that (living hell) you could get an excursion or two.

The phases are the same as the building numbers.
