We leave in a few short days for Cabo! Woot! Woot!

We have a 1 bedroom (not deluxe), do these rooms have a view? Are they on the first floor or upstairs? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a view!

Except for 1 or 2 units directly behind Mama Mia's, they are all in the beachfront buildings on the Ground-5th Floor levels.

Does anyone who has recently been to Cabo know if they have high-speed internet access available in the rooms or lobby.

There is quite reliable internet access in the lobby and around the pool bar area and there are 4 computers in the business centre with a printer attached that have decent internet speed. They will give you the wireless password key at the front desk if you ask.

As far as the units go, our friends were in the back building in Feb and were able to access the wireless from Sardinia Cantina quite reliably from the deck. We were in the building behind Mama Mia on the front and had great access on our deck as well....they will give you that password too. Our daughter was in the building that houses the lobby and they were able to access the Mama Mia internet but not very reliably.

Can anyone tell me anything about the 2 bedroom back building rooms? What size beds are in both the rooms? Are they as nice as others? Any information is much appreciated.

there is a king in master 2 twins in other room we like to stay in back because the barbeques are in the grass in the front and if you have first or second floor you just hand thing to cook right off terrs its nice to sit in hot tub in evening with a cold drink and know no one will tip it over

Have stayed in the back building lots of times and have no problem with it! The units are exactly the same as the 2 bedrooms in the other two building with the addition of a hot tub on the deck...having your own hot tub in the evening is great! I would probably choose a front unit if both were available, the friends we travel with prefer the back building so we are OK with either.

The studio is very similar to a one bedroom, with the bedroom missing, of course. It has a living room/dining room area with a Queen Murphy bed that folds down. There is a more limited kitchen (stove top, fridge, microwave etc. but no oven), a bathroom and a deck. All the units are on the front (water) side of the buildings and there are only 2 bedroom units in the back building.

Hope that helps...

Hope everyone is well … I see that Bill is taking care of the board, as always; dude you so rock! I hope life is still treating you well bud.

It’s been a few months since I’ve been on here, and I’m happy to report I’m planning another trip to Cabo in July. Work has been out-of-control and I need a break; where else should I look than Cabo.

Tam and I have been to this resort at least 7 times and we always have a fantastic and relaxing time.

I do have an updated travel document from our last visit and from a few friends that have visited… I’ll look to post it here soon.

Cheers,

-Dennis

How's the painting going? We got a letter in the mail a few months ago notifying that a big painting project would be going on and we could opt out if wanted. We didn't, but ... how's the painting going?

We just got back from Coral Baja. didn't want to leave. The pools were great and the one bedroom deluxe had great views of the pool and beach. it was a good place to watch the events in the evening such as salsa night, feista night and karioki night. during the day there are many activties you can do such as water aroibics, water polo, beach volley ball, bingo by the pool and happy hour. i would go back in a heart beat. we will be planning a visit next year.

Can you smell the paint around the resort or does that wonderful breeze take care of everything (like we're hoping)?

i heard that the studio is nice as you can wake to the ocean if you have a ocean front room. the one bedroom units are nice as the have a average size kitchen if you want to save money and cook some to all your meals.

Good news on the painting...

As for food, the "Mega" Store is just about a 1/4 mile up the road from the resort for all your shopping needs; we like to walk to and take a cab back.

I will say, last trip (it was just the two of us) we went to the Super Wal-mart. They have great selections much better than the Mega, and their selection of frozen foods chicken to BBQ, and bakery rock.

NOTE: Tip the bag boy/girl, it’s their only wage!

Now that I think of it we were there last year for hurricane Jimena... good times! I'll send a photo of the beach.

Hi Dennis:
It's been 10 years since we have been to CABO but will be there for two weeks March 2011. Could you tell me where the super Wall-Mart is, I do have an idea about the MEGA store and Costco, but have no ideas about the Wallmart.
Thanks for the info.

Hi Breta,

The Walmart is about 15 - 20 min towards Cabo San Lucas not far from Costco. Prices there were very good when we were there last year. Hope this helps. I will be at Coral Baja from Mar 5 - 30, 2011 maybe we can get together for drinks by the pool? Shelley

I've used Transcabo three times and they were great. Just be sure to head straight outside past all the TImeshare Sharks and transcabo rep has a sign with your name on it. I hope you have a great time.

We just got back from another perfect week at Coral Baja. My wife's concerns about fumes from the painting were completely unfounded; yes, they were painting; no, it didn't bother her (really sensitive) nose. Everything was just great; we did the dinner cruise, food terrific, service better (free margaritas a little iffy, we switched to beer) and upper-deck band the best. We drove to Todos Santos and while the road is being worked on, no problems and we had the best lunch ever at Tequila's Sunrise (that's how they spell it). I'll post more about that on the restaurant thread. Have fun, everyone!
