Hi

Just wanted to make a clarification. There is actually 2 elevators at Anaheim. The second is around the corner towards Katella side. We use this resort every few months because of family and love it.

My family just returned from spending three nights at Anaheim resort. The resort is in walking distance to Disneyland if you do not want to pay the $4.00 per day per person for shuttle service. The only downfall about the walk is if you stay in the park until closing the walk might be a little scary.
I stayed in a 1bd unit with two teenagers, since the only mirror in a 1bd is in the bathroom this made getting ready take a longer than normal. The rec room is nice and has plenty of activities but closes promptly at 10pm.

Since I'm writing this after you have already been there, I will share what my upcoming confirmation states re room layout: King Bed in Master and in 2nd bdrm and twin beds in 3rd & 4th bdrms. I believe the twin beds can be joined, but will check with the property office before departure to confirm this, unless someone else can shed some light on this? I'd love to see some personal photos of the room if anyone has any to share on the Presidential, 4 bdrm. We check in Sept 7 with our family of 7.

Transportation from WM to Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, NBC TV studios, Warner Brothers Studios, etc. What transportation is more apt to get us to those places in the LA & Hollywood, etc. areas? We aren't renting a car and there are going to be 5-7 of us going to play "tourist" to these attractions. We arrive Sept 7, 2010. Thanks for any input...!

There should be a shuttle to and from Knott's Berry Farm. It is local and less than 10 miles from the resort. You could take the public bus as well but I would rather the shuttle.

The resort is a mile or so from the train station and you can catch the Metrolink or Amtrak to Union Station in downtown LA and then the Red Line subway to Universal Studios or Hollywood. (i.e. Sunset or Hollywood Blvds)

The other studios (NBC and Warner Bros) you will want a car. If you leave early or late enough int he morning you can miss traffic and then just plan to have dinner near where ever you are sight seeing to avoid evening rush hour traffic.

If you have other questions just shoot me a private message and we can exchange emails. I've been local to Disney for decades and have know my way around LA very well.

Have a good stay.

Our family just returned from staying at the new Anaheim resort near Disneyland. We were there the last week of June. We had a great experience! We booked a 2 bedroom for our family of 6, and a studio for my daughter and her husband. The studio was much roomier than I was expecting, although the cooking facilities were a less than desired. No stove, and only a small dishwasher. But it didn't matter because they ate with us in our unit.

We had wanted to book a 3 bedroom, but even 13 mo in advance there were none available. Not exactly sure how that works--maybe there aren't very many 3 bdrms?

The staff were wonderful! Very helpful. We drove to CA and had a car top carrier on our Suburban. There were very few spaces in the parking garage that we could park in, but when we asked if there was anywhere to store the carrier so we could just take it off, they gladly found a storage room that would lock where we could keep it the remainder of the time!

We had received a letter prior to our visit that said they were adding another elevator and that there would be construction going on during daytime hours. We were on the 2nd floor and never saw any construction while there. We didn't use the elevators very often since the stairs were just as easy.

My daughter was on the 12th floor, but she said she never had to wait very long for the elevator. The rooftoop patio was very nice along with the hottubs (I think there were 2). A lot of people went up at night to watch Disneylands fireworks which I imagine were somewhat visible--we never went to watch.

One thing we wish the resort had was a larger store with food and personal items. But there were a few grocery stores nearby so it wasn't so bad.

The resort does not have a shuttle to Disneyland, but there is a city shuttle that picks up right in front of the resort. It is $5 per adult, per day. We opted out, because it was cheaper to pay to park at Disneyland with our large family, then but a shuttle ticket for each person.

The pool was average---only 4' deep.

What I did not like was the pressure to have "breakfast" and meet with Worldmark salesman. As soon as we checked in they were filling out breakfast coupons for us and wanting to know what day we would come. We set it up, then canceled when they called to remind us. I'm already a Worldmark member, I like it, if I want to buy more credits I will do it on my own time. I HATE that they are bugging me about it during my vacation!!!!

The resort isn't too far from Disneyland, about 2 1/2 blocks. But after walking around the park allll day the last thing I wanted to do was walk all the way back to my room. But it is doable.

I thought the Anaheim resort was very quiet. We rarely heard others around us.

We had bought a Southern California Pass and drove to Universal Studios as well as San Diego to go to Sea World and the zoo. Traffic is horrible as always, but we just planned an extra hour drive to our schedule.

We will defintely plan to return to Anaheim in the future.

If you are reading this by now, you probably have read the number of other reviews on the Anaheim resort. I can see both points of view. However I would like to give my take on this place and hopefully folks that follow us on this trip can have the same enjoyable experience we had.

We checked in around 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 31st and asked for a room in the upper floors facing Disneyland. Our reservation was for a one week stay in a 1 bedroom and was booked on July 1st from a wait list. Either we were very lucky or being Diamond Elite has its privileges, because our room is 1112. If you don’t know the layout of the Resort yet, this is the 11th floor and all EVEN number rooms face Disneyland. On top of that, we are one of 28 rooms that have a balcony that you can sit on to watch the fireworks. Needless to say, this is about as perfect a room and view you can possibly ask for.

I read plenty of comments before I got here, so I was prepared for a few of the “misgivings” of this resort. In my opinion, what this resort has to offer far out ways the shortcomings previously mentioned. It is true the elevators have their busy times however keep in mind, you are on vacation. There are plenty of event in our lives to stress out over than waiting an extra 5 mins for an elevator.

The ART (Anaheim Resort Transit) is a public transportation service. We paid 16$ for a 5 day pass of unlimited use. It had its shortcomings as well, but again, we are on vacation and this is PUBLIC transportation. It is not perfect. Actually it is far from it. One day we had the slowest bus driver. I honestly do not understand how he got the job but I only paid 16$ for 5 days of unlimited use. He is not my personal chauffer. He is a public worker who is going to get paid the same amount of money if he picks up 1 or 100 passengers. We sat and laughed at how slow he was and how we watched other routes that we knew were longer pick up more people and arrive to their destination quicker. It makes for a good story.

The resort is “pricey” in comparison to others we have stayed at but overall I think it is well worth it. The location to the park and the Garden Walk is absolutely wonderful. The staff has been superior in their hospitality. We even asked to have a walk through on a 4 bedroom presidential and that was even granted. We know we got lucky but none the less it all comes down to how you ask for things. If you demand it, they don’t owe it to you. If you respectfully ask, amazingly enough the doors open wide.

I need to talk about this 4 bedroom. I could not get my GF to agree that we should spend 40,000 points to stay one week in such a suite. After we walked into this well planned room, she was more than convinced. This is 3000 sqft of true luxury. It has 2 master bedrooms and two twin bedrooms. I think I counted 4 bathrooms but I could be wrong on that. The kitchen was designed to feed an army and there was no detail left out. The dining room table seats 8 with room to spare. The living room had a beautiful couch. There is a small nook for 4 with a computer desk with computer and printer. Yes that is right, a private business center. The rooms are separated by a living room. A master and twin on the Disney side and the other master and twin on the Street side. There was a full size washer and dryer as well.

We did have trouble with our air conditioner. It would not turn on the first night. We contacted the front desk and within 10 mins a maintenance man was there working on it. He had to replace the control panel and the air began to flow. However, we never seem to cool the rooms off. It would get up to about 80 in the room and at night we could get it down to around 73. I think had I left the sliding door open it would have probably been fine. It didn’t really upset our stay though.

The one thing we did notice was how discourteous others were by leaving the carts on the floors or in the parking garage. I had read before that carts were in high demand. When we arrived there seemed to be plenty but as the week went by we noticed fewer and fewer in the lobby area. As we walked around we would locate them. It is a shame that people don’t have common courtesy to return the cart to the lobby so others can use them. It would only take 5 mins and I am sure if those people didn’t have a cart available to them we never would have heard the end of it.

We are hoping to return to Anahiem in Feburary and we plan on bringing some of our friends.

We just stayed at the resort from the 21st to the 28th and had a two bedroom on the 8th floor facing Disney. The condo was great though the carpet was damaged and in terrible condition. The air conditioning in the extra bedroom was too high with not way to turn it down or close the vent.....kids froze. Loved the furnishings and very comfortable. Problems with the pool and it was closed for most of two separate days during our week. Children were not excluded from the pool/hot tubs...including the roof during adult hours. The elevators were frustrating though we found it hysterical that we overheard salespeople telling potential buyers that the resort was "waiting" until the occupancy warrented adding another elevator when it is clearly an oversight when the resort was planned/built. They should soon have one more installed as it was delivered by helicopter the morning of our departure. I don't think only one will make much of a difference though will help....especially with all those riding up and down from the 2nd floor:):):) LOVED watching the fireworks from our unit! Better than watching from the roof. We walked to and from Disney/California Adventure during our stay and found that going 1st thing in the morning, returning to our unit for a late lunch/early dinner around 2pm to take a break and then returning to Disney in the early evening until late night worked best. If we (family of 4 ranging in ages 16 to 50+)can do it MOST people should be fine to walk to and from twice along with around both parks. We also visited the Knotts water park (not recommended) and Universal Studios on two separate days along with Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Very nice accomodations for Aneheim and much preferred to staying in a hotel....makes that worth the extra high points for this location!
