I had a question maybe someone can answer for me. I'm heading out to our anahiem resort in three weeks and I was wondering if anyone knew about ordering groceries and having them sent over from von's? When should I make the order? And is it reliable?

We used Von's when we were at the Anaheim resort for Spring Break. It was an easy and fun process - I had worked on our list for several days before-hand, and made my final order a few days ahead of our arrival. The resort is sooo accomodating - everything was put away in the fridge that should have been, everything else out on the counter ready for us to put away. We had ordered tons of stuff (5 of us in a 3-bdrm Presidential), and the staff member that put it all away was so sweet about it. We gave him a tip, and he seemed genuinely surprised! It's such a cool thing to do, because you not only save time, but we had a nice cold Corona w/lime waiting for us when we got to our room! And chips and salsa! Have a wonderful time - we have already booked for next year!

You went to Disneyland in 2007 during Spring Break? When was your spring break? Was it crazy busy and lines long?

I've been to both. I prefer Anaheim.

Actually, it was just this year - March 29-April 4th. It wasn't too crazy-busy - the Fast Pass really helps. The longest wait was for Alladin, probably an hour, but the show was totally worth it. We went on Soarin' Over California 3 times in a row using the Fast Pass, and it didn't seem to take a long time. One night after the fireworks we ran over to Pirates of the Caribbean and there was not one person in line and empty boats ahead of and behind us. So the eight of us (including my oh-so-very-cool 14 year old niece) were singing the pirate song at the top of our lungs in total abandon! My apologies to anyone eating at the Blue Bayou that night...
We have booked for the same time next year!

That is so cool that it wasn't busy. I keep reading to "avoid Disneyland during Spring Break". Our Spring Break 2010 is going to be Mar 29 - Apr 2 and Dolphins Cove is completely booked up, but Anaheim is WIDE OPEN . Have you ever stayed at Dolphins Cove?

How do you get the FAST PASS? Cost extra?

So, how was your trip? What did you think of the resort and all the surrounding areas? Am thinking of going to "Anaheim" next Spring Break 2010. Have you ever stayed at Dolphins Cove? Any comparison?

You use your park pass at machines near the rides that have fast pass and it will give you a ticket with a return time to ride the ride without waiting in the long lines

Dolphin Cove isn't as nice. It's less credits. I recommend Anaheim

But why does it take so many more credits than other resorts? I mean it takes 16.5k credits for Anaheim vs 10k for Dolphins Cove. Is Anaheim that much nicer?

Stay at both resorts and you let me know which one you prefer.

We've never stayed there, but I talked to a gal two years ago who had just been, and she had a long list of bad things they had experienced. Unfortunately, pretty typical in my experience of the resorts not entirely owned by Worldmark. The Anaheim resort was awesome! We will be there for Spring Break again next year - same week as you!

Plus if you lok for availability at Dolphins Cove, there is none...
I'm actually going to rent enough credits extra over our two year allotment so we can stay at Anaheim.

My family which consists of my wife and I and 4 kids ages 8,6,3 and 21 months at the time of vacation will be visiting Anaheim from October 17-24, 2010. We are planning atleast 3 or more days just for Disneyland but I am also interested in visiting Channel Islands National Park. I wondered if anyone had information about travel time to Ventura from Anaheim and whether I should find a place to stay near the port the night before traveling to the islands or if I could make it reasonably leaving from Anaheim the morning of. Also if anyone has any other suggestions about places to visit their with small kids it would be greatly appreciated.

It's close to a 2 hour drive from Anaheim to Ventura without traffic. Add in the LA midweek congestion and you will spend more time in your car than you will anywhere else.

My suggestion would be to leave Anaheim mid morning, stop and see what ever suits you on the way to Ventura. Once there, spend the night and leave for the islands the next morning.
