I was wondering if there was a shuttle from the resort to Disneyland?? I'm flying in and was also wondering if I should rent a car or take a shuttle from the airport?? There have also been such negative reviews about this resort. It's very disconcerting considering the amount of credits that we are using. Anyone have a good experience? Thanks for your help!

There have been some negative reviews about the Dolphins Cove resort in Anaheim. That is an older resort, not the new Anaheim resort. The reviews I have seen for the Ahaheim resort, not the reviews on the "other site" but those on a different site, have been very favorable. It's a brand new resort, just opened a few weeks ago. I wouldn't worry.

It's called ART, Anaheim Resort Transportation, very easy to use. Quick trip to & from Disneyland. Cost is $4 a day for unlimted use. Know that if you buy a three day pass which is cheaper the three days is calander not when used.

Thanks! I just looked up ART and noticed that one of their kiosks are actually at the Worldmark! Beats walking when you don't have a car.

We will be staying at the Anaheim resort in June. There will be about 20 of us in 4 different units. Is there a common Bar-B-Que area where we can cook dinner and all eat together. Is it on a first come bases or can it be reserved.
There 20 some people range in age from 9 months to 75 years old. What is the childrens play area like. What ages is it sutible for?
Can the transportation buses accomodate this many people as well as a wheelchair and strollers. Yes some are disabled. We do plan to break up into smaller groups going to the parks to be respectful of other guests.
Any additional information would be helpful in our trip planning.
Thank you Susie

Is it on a first come bases or can it be reserved. If there are Bar-B-Ques they would be down by the pool, I didn't go down there to check for sure. I would assume the use is just like all the other resorts, can't be reserved but available first come. There 20 some people range in age from 9 months to 75 years old. What is the childrens play area like. What ages is it sutible for? Wow, I didn't see a child's play area but again, it could be down by the pool. There is a game room with all kinds of activities available. Can the transportation buses accomodate this many people as well as a wheelchair and strollers. Yes some are disabled. We do plan to break up into smaller groups going to the parks to be respectful of other guests. The buses hold about 20 people, wheelchairs and strollers allowed Any additional information would be helpful in our trip planning. I would call the resort to answer the questions that I couldn't...they can tell you for a fact about the items you are asking about.Sounds like your group will share a lot of memories! Thank you Susie

No grocery stores within walking distance. Just mini-mart type of things.

To add on some information: There are BBQ's down by the pool. I didn't see a children's play area, but then I didn't look for one either. I didn't even notice it was missing until I was taking my shuttle back to the airport and saw some kids at another hotel, playing on theirs! After a full day at the park, swimming was fine enough for us.
I noticed on one of our bus rides that there was a gentleman in a motorized wheelchair. It was fairly large in size. Our bus took 30 minutes (they run every 20) to get to the resort and if I would have realized what a quick walk it was, I would have just done that. I know there has been a lot of discussion about the walk... so I will sum it up.
The walk is .8 miles. 1. You walk across the street to the Garden Walk and walk diagonally through it. 2. Turn Left onto Disney Way and walk 1 1/4 blocks to Harbor Blvd. 3. Turn Right and walk less than 2 blocks to the entrance on your left. EASY!
We did this walk after 9 hours at the park. It was actually kind of refreshing. The kids were relaxed in their strollers and it was a time to wind down. We stopped by an ice cream shop at the Garden Walk on the way back as well. So my advice is... if the shuttle is not there and there are a bunch of people waiting in line, just walk if you're able.
I called the resort about the grocery store and they advised to use vons.com for delivery service (they'll delivery beer and wine). I thought it was a great idea. You can find discounted delivery rates through the web (just google it). If you do use this service and already have an account through one of their partners (I have one through safeway), you'll have to use a different email, as you can't change the location of your "home" grocery store. I ended up not using it because we were only there for 3 nights and 2 days. I walked to the 7-11 that was a block away from the resort to get fresh fruit, milk, and some breakfast bars.
We used a pack and play from the resort, instead of bringing our own. I used the business center to print out my boarding passes for the next day. The pool, just like the other Worldmark pools, was warmed nicely. The balconies are quite small, not big enough to "hang" out.
The ONLY thing I felt disturbing about this resort, was the amount of credits I used.
Have a great time!

As for the car rental, I know if you are under 25 some won't rent to you at all, Budget charges an additional $25 per day. As well as you have to have a major credit card, not bank card. Regarding the airline question. If they are old enough to have school ID that can be handy when getting through security. But if they are under I believe 18 they aren't required to have ID. Usually domestic flights are no problem, but it all depends on your airline. I would call United and ask a customer service agent what type of documentation you need. Odds are good, you won't need anything. Maybe a notarized letter from their parents. My daughter flew to Mexico last month and because she has a passport (she's 14) they didn't even blink. And she had nothing from either me or my husband. (Not sure I like that, but it is what it is). Hope that helps Leah

I'll be coming to the resort flying in to SNA Airport with my family next month (March 20-29th) and I was wondering if it would be more economical to get a shuttle from the airport and utilize ART or walk OR to just rent a car to get from the airport to the resort and either use it to get to DL or just leave it parked & still use ART or walk.
Basically the question is rent a car for the 10 days or just take a shuttle? I don't think I'll really have a need for the car besides transportation between the airport & the resort. There will be 5 of us (Me, wife, 3 kids ages 8, 5, & 2). I think Budget has the cheapest car rental prices but I'm not sure about the shuttle options for the 5 of us.

I would also like to know about ART Shuttle. The resort said they sell passes in lobby such as a 3 day pass. There is also the garden walk for lots of food next door. We are trying to NOT rent a car this time. Any info is helpful. Thx
Here is the website for ART http://www.rideart.org/index.php?loc=1

I dont know about SNA airport, but LAX has a car rental company called Deluxe and we got a midsize car (5 of us as well) for 10 days in March for $185. I thought that was a great price.

I am taking my daughter to Disney and staying at the Anaheim resort July 19-21. This will be my first WorldMark vacation and I'm really excited. I am planning on flying into SNA as it is only 13 miles to the resort. I was wondering about transportation to and from the airport. I really don't want the hassle of renting a car. Was considering a taxi, but was wondering what others are doing. I was trying to look into ART but couldn't get the map to pull up on my computer. Does it go to SNA? Also, is Downtown Disney right near the resort? I was planning on spending the first day just hanging around and relaxing by the pool. My daughter is 8 and I was just wondering what is in walking distance that she might enjoy. Any tips would be appreciated!

The garden Walk mall with shopping and food is next door. The Art shuttle has a kiosk to get tickets in the WM lobby. We are shutling or taxiing from SNA Airport then using ART shuttle or walking. I was told its 8/10's of a mile and our kids are 8,11 and 14. Yes Downtown Disney is also walking distance. Good luck, we go in 2 days!

We will be going to the Aneheim resort the first week of April. Some questions--there are 8 of us. Any suggestions on transportation to Universal Studios? Also, What is the best way to purchase tickets to Disneyland and Universal Studios? Any other suggestions for meals and fun? We are in a presidential suite--has anyone got feedback on the rooms? The pictures in the Destinations magazine were great but would like information from someone who has been there. Also, best price for transportation from the airport? We fly into SNA. any suggestions or information about the place would be appreciated. Thanks you!

For 8 people from JWA to the Anaheim resort would cost $70.00 in a large van or you can be picked up in a limousine for $90.00. We are direct we only pick up one party at a time. You will be driven directly from the airport to your resort.
I believe the shuttle rate is about $12.00 a person but you should check that out because I could be wrong. But the problem with the shuttle is that they also have other people in the vehicle that have to be dropped off at other hotels.

Our family of 5 just spent our week at the Worldmark Anaheim and we all had a great time. The unit is nicely decorated and we were very comfortable. We were on the 11th floor and really had no problems with the elevators being available. Of course, they are very busy during the morning and evening as people are coming and going from the Disney parks, but that is to be expected. We were told that the trash/linen areas on each floor is actually where the second set of elevators will be located in the future. The shaft was built in but due to time constraints with opening, they decided to add it later. Only once did we use the alternate elevator and housekeepers were coming and going so we just used the main elevators. The problem with the trash area at the end of the hallways is that the trash tends to pile up when they are locked(why lock them?)by Sat am when everyone was checking out the trash really piled up! The pool is nice and warmed. The hot tubs are great except for the roof top hot tubs. There are only two and it is posted that there can only be 3 people in each. They are small but come on, 3 people? There is an attendant there to sort of police it but we had more than 3 in there a few times. We still don't like the rule that the pools/hot tubs close down at 10 pm. Especially since the parks on fri/sat close at 11 or midnight They need to establish adult hours after 10pm even as a trial basis to see that it will work, especially on the rooftop where there is no access to windows or rooms. The Gardenwalk next to the property is nice with several restaurants and shopping. It is pretty new still with several vacant spots. For food we went to Costco which is on Garden Grove Blvd off of Harbor blvd. Very close and very crowded. The parking there is not adequate. We also went to the Ralphs on Euclid which is affiliated with several large chains for club card use. We used the grills by the pool and all went well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The arcade was fun for the kids and they enjoyed the free ping pong. The gym is great and I just wished we had used it like we thought we would but we walked so much and were so tired at the end of each day that working out was simply out. There is no FREE shuttle service to the parks. There is a kiosk in the lobby which sells tickets ($4)to ride the shuttle daily. Kids prices are only up to 9 yr olds. We dedided to have my husband drop us off on Harbor near the entrances to the parks then he drove back (made the circle), parked the rental car in the garage and took the shuttle back. It worked great and helped to reduce our already tired legs and feet. We spent the money we saved on the shuttle for a locker in the park ($7). We never had a problem parking in the garage. There is security around the clock at the front doors and I thought that was nice. They also have tall wheeled carts in the lobby to help get all of your stuff to your room. As far as park tickets, there was something in the lobby about that but I think it directs you to a stand somewhere outside of the property. We bought ours on-line and thru April 30, 2009 everyone pays the kids prices. Safeway is also offering the same deal. Parks were great with all rides open and working. The only one I saw that was down was the carosel in Ca Adventure and the basket type of ferris wheel. They are adding on to the Ca Adventure park with what looks like a laser light show (the same kind that is at Epcot in Florida) That didn't bother us just as long as Ca Screamin was running we were fine. All in all a great trip. Yes, a lot of credits for the week but it's Disney and non-owners are paying much more at the surrounding properties without all of the amenities. Enjoy!

We are going to California in a few days! We are very excited. We will be staying a week. I called the resort about the grocery delivery service available. If you go through the resort the charge a $25 fee. I was told to go through the Safeway/Vons website. Your 1st delivery is free! We arrive on a Saturday and they only deliver the 1st half of the day. At the resort they said they would put the groceries in our room if we are not there, if our room is not ready yet they will store them in a refrigerator they have available. I think that this is going to save me so much time. I will not have to waste any time at a grocery store!!!!! I will let you know if it works out as great as it sounds. Transportation isn't that bad we have used the shuttle vans, taxis, and rented a car. They all work get and get you where you need to go. Before you go so a little research. You will save lots of money buying online before you go. Universal Studios and Sea World have a 2 park flex pass. I bought ours on Daytrippen.com Adult passes $99 and kids 3-9 $89. You have 14 days to use from the first use. Medieval Times if a fun family event. Not far from Disneyland, do not pay extra for the shuttle, you sit for ever on a greyhound going from hotel to hotel. Take a taxi will cost less and save a lot of time! At the daytrippen website you can also save money on some of the character meals at the park. Call and get prices at the park and then compare them to the website, some are better in the park. The character meals are worth the price you get good food and great pictures with the characters! Memories are priceless. They come to your table for pictures, you don't have to fight the crowds. Universal Studios website you can buy and all you can eat pass, very inexpensive. You will save money with this pass, only available online. I hope that maybe some of this info might help.

I will be at the resort from the 5th of Jun to the 13th with 14 family members in multiple units. My first question is What type of coffee filters are needed in the units . We will be making more than one pot of coffee each day and I plan to bring them with us. (Cone or Flat bottom)?
We plan to eat together each night for dinner. How busy is the bar-b-que area. Is there any other area at the resort where we can eat without over crowding a 3 bedroom unit.
I have heard that the max in the pool is 10. We plan to come back to the resort in the afternoons to relax a little and swim before heading back to disney after dinner. Are they enforcing the pool limits. Yes we are willing to take turns with others. Our fish are 6, 12, 13 the rest of range from 9months to 66 years.
I would love to hear any new resort reviews and if anyone else will be there with a similar age group for a mini meet.
Thank you for any info provided
Susie

Look forward to seeing you there. My Grandson is almost 6. We will be doing a Birthday celebration at DL. My G-Granddaughter will be 9 months. Does anyone else want to do a mini-meet? Hope some one can answer the questions. Would like to have answers from someone who has been there but I can always call the resort directly.
Thanks Everyone

Hello Susie...We just returned from Anaheim and had a wonderful stay...The resort is quite nice, they are still working out the kinks...The elevators can be slow, we used the stairs alot, we were on the 7th floor...They will provide you with Coffee Filters just ask at the front desk...We had a 12 cup cone filter maker that we had to replace a few days in than had a 10 cup flat bottom one...The BBQ area is ok, can't recall seating area around there...
The resort staff are very helpful, Chris (one of the manager's) was very helpful to us...Hope this helps, any questions let me know...
