If you drive into Bend there is a really cute restaurant called Black Bear something. It's on the main drag through town but a ways in. They had these cute bears everyplace and the food and prices were down home and very good.

The on-site restaurant Niblick & Greens has excellent food and is a good value for nicer meals. The Pine Tavern in Bend(more a nice restaurant than tavern)is very good and the restauant in Tumalo is also a place we enjoy.

If you are in the mood for a good steak meal!

If you continue to follow Cline Falls Rd. South, you'll reach Tumalo where you can get a very good steak dinner at the Tumalo Feed Co. When you reach the end of Cline Falls Rd., turn right onto the main highway that runs from Bend to Sisters, and then turn an immediate left into the Tumalo Feed Co. You can easily see the restaurant from where the Cline Falls Rd. ends to know where to turn.

While staying at Eagle Crest over the Easter week we found a great pizza place in Redmond. Papa's Pizza, located on Hwy 97 just a mile or two north of the turn-off for EC (Hwy. 126). The place is huge with a very large indoor "playland" for the kids. The entire time we were in the pizza parlor there was at least one employee monitoring and cleaning the playland. The place is clean, the food is good and they have a great selection of local micro brews. We met some local folks from Bend who make the drive to Redmond just to go to this place because of how nice it is.

We just ate at the Diamond B chuckwagon. The dinner and after dinner show were great. Our children really had a nice time and have asked about the "cowboy dinner place" several times. Ben, Brendan, and Gabe, were great hosts and were very attentive to our needs! Aaron

The Tumalo Feed Co. is a great place for dinner. It is just a few miles down Kline Falls Hyw. in Tumalo. They have added a deck for outside dining. We got to have our dinner out there on a perfect evening. Part of the meal is served family style. You get onion rings with salsa before dinner and with dinner beans, and potatoes in a skillet. Have never had a bad meal there.

Did the Diamond B Chuckwagon dinner for the first time and it was fun. The meal was a very basic chuckwagon style dinner. Had a choice of chicken or beef, baked potatoe, beans, apple sauce, biscuits, chocolate cake. If you are on a low carb diet you will have a rough time here. It is a family thing. Three brothers help serve and then entertain you after dinner with old time country and gospel music. Very nice young men. We got discount coupons at the WM office for $5 off each dinner. We are all over 55 which allowed us to pay the senior price of $20, then with the coupon our dinners were only $15 each. Pretty cheap for a good meal and entertainment.

Bronco Billy's at the old hotel is Sisters is another fun place. Have very good burgers. Have only had lunch there so I can't speak for dinner.

Niblick and Greene's at the resort has alway been a good place to eat. Didn't get to this trip. They are moving the restaurant up in the new developement by the entrance to Eagle Crest. We were told they will have the restaurant, a sports bar, and a deli there. It should do well up there. A little more centrally located. That new area is also suppose to have shops and offices.

Had breakfast one morning at the little cafe over in the hotel. They have very good breakfasts.

Patty

A couple of years back we got a recommendation and gave it a shot. It was at a place called The Brand, I think. I remember it being along the main highway between Bend & Redmond, but not exactly where. The food (we had breakfast)was really good, and a lot of it. It's decorated up/ furnished old-country-gramma's-housey-kind-of-cozy. May be worth a try. Happy Trails------- the ol' coach.

The Brand was a great place to eat but it was closed the last time we tried to go there. To bad because the entire family loved it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Coyote Ranch in Redmond right on Hwy 97 has good food, nice atmosphere, and reasonable prices. We've eaten there several times.

I agree that Niblics the restaurant at the resort is excelent. The other place that we ate at that we liked was The Dowtowner in Bend. It is right downtown on Oregon Street. Sports Bar type place, good food and nice atmosphere. All ages of people there.
