There are many places to shop. I went into the Queen Victoria Mall for some of my final shopping and found only one store that had what I was looking for - traditional souveniers to bring back to my kids. My favorite place to shop was at The Rocks. The shops are wonderful and they have a street market a few days a week. I was able to purchase some wonderful mementos both in the market and shops. There are also lots of stores for buying Uggs. Just shop around to get the best deal as they are very competitive.

I recommend making use of the grocery story a short walk away. I was able to purchase frozen meat pies (the same kind you buy in the shops on the streets) and microwave them. Even though you don't have a freezer in the studio condo, they kept well in the refridgerator. I even cooked some up for my wait in the airport (Aussie meat pies are meant to be eaten with your hands, unlike those we have in the states).
