Jetskijdj,
These are items that WorldMark by Wyndham Management would like to know about so that we can take immediate action to get these issues addressed. If you would like to discuss your concerns with a representative, the most expeditious way to communicate that concern would be to send it directly to ownersupport@worldmarktheclub.com or call Owner Care at 888 648 7363 (Option 4).

I'm headed there for the 4th time in October. My wife and I find it very relaxing, good family friendly beach across the street, nice pool, hot tub, not a lot of other amenities but everything is within a short drive. You may have seen posts regarding view, don't count on it and you won't be disappointed but the beauty of Mauii is all around you. Now this and basically all Hawaii destinations are very popular so you need to plan carefully. You may book 13 months out in Hawaii but be flexible if possible it may take a few tries to get in a particular size unit you want. There are a lot of activities to do on Mauii but of course the beach and water are the main draws and there free. Hope this helps if you have any other questions don't hesitate to contact me direct.

We are going to Kihei in August for 10 days, and staying in a 3 bedroom w/ partial view room. Starting to be concerned about some of the recent reviews on both this site and Trip Advisor. Hope to read more positive reviews in the coming months.

raider10 we just returned from Kihei & had a great time! We also had a 3 bedroom, don't worry about the view you won't be in the room anyway you'll be at the beach just a 5 minute walk.
You will need to drive for shopping though, 1/2 hr to Lahina
Staff at the resort was great.
Have a great trip

Happy to hear you had a great trip! I'm not so worried about the view, it was more the condition of the condo. Glad to hear the staff was great. What is the towel situation like? Can you request more towels or did you just wash what you had? Was there anything that wasn't in the condo that you wished you had? When we stayed in Orlando, it was pretty much stocked with everything. Five more months!

We're leaving for our first trip to Maui in 3 and a half weeks! We are staying in a Studio-no view unit that we booked a year ago thinking we wouldn't be spending much time in the room, except to sleep. I have found forums on Trip Advisor where similar 20-30 somethings booked the same unit with the same mentality of only being there to sleep and wished they had gotten a bigger unit. No view, no couch, uncomfortable and unusually small Murphy bed? Please ease our fears of being too frugal with our accommodations... Also, is there still poolside massage service here? And any transportation to/from the airport provided by Worldmark? Thanks again!

Would strongly encourage you to waitlist a Studio with a Limited View. It will give you a more expansive feeling without costing you any more credits. It may not happen but at least you will know that you tried. Of course, if you have any credits to spare, waitlist a large unit.
The last time we were there they only had shoulder massage but there are plenty of legit call in massage businesses.
Worldmark does not have a shuttle service, you really should be planning on a rental car anyway to enjoy the benefits of the island.
Another option is to waitlist a studio at Valley Isle. The studios there are wide open ocean view on the beach.
Other reviewers will claim Kihei is better because of the Californification of the resort, while others believe Valley Isle more closely reflects the Aloha of the island (at least with the studios).
Enjoy!

My husband and I have stayed the last two years at Kihei for one week each time. We brought another couple with us both years. We stayed in a two-bedroom, back-alley view unit and were pleased. The place was spotless, with the exception that the rug needed shampooing. When my husband mentioned it to the staff person who called and asked how the unit was shortly after we arrived, they offered to clean the rug for us. We told them not to bother - to do it after we left. The unit is a little dark, but I guess we Washingtonians didn't mind because we needed a respite from the sun. Whenever we needed clean towels, bedding, or kitchen supplies, we went to the laundry shack at the top of the parking lot - opposite the beach and were given whatever we needed. The staff was very responsive and helpful. Although both years we were on the bottom floor, our unit was extremely quiet, rarely heard anyone above. I had a full body massage next to the pool - in a small tent, of course. She did a wonderful job. We have done most of the tourist activities. If you run out of new ideas, the Iao Needle is neat, very lush with rain forest gardens. Also, the America's Cup sunset sail is lots of fun and inexpensive, if you don't mind getting a little wet. Dress warmly for the ride back. We also hiked a couple of miles down the lava fields along the water - gorgeous. We saw a turtle and lots of goats. Drive as far as you can past Waimea and Makena and park in the lot.

I just got back from my 7 day stay there, 3 nights each in two separate three bedroom units and 1 in a two bedroom unit. No complaints at all. Had a wonderful time. The view was out to the parking lot. It was fine. Like others have said, you should be spending your time out enjoying the sights. The pool was nice, the staff was nice. The concierge service was good and true to their word the places they booked were just as they described. Did the Road to Hana. Our driver/tour guide went to my high school in a small town in PA and graduated one year before me 38 years ago. Don't drive the road, take the tour. Did the submarine, helicopter, luau at the Hyatt (go VIP). All were great, but expensive. You have to do these once, though. I highly recommend the resort.

I don't know about Valley Isle but Kihei has two bathrooms in the two bdrm units. One with the master bdrm and one that is not connected to the second bdrm. I believe that it is off the hallway close to the second one.

Hi bnjforever, We've been to Maui many times and have stayed at both resorts. The Valley Isle 2 bedroom units have 2 baths. One connected to the master bedroom and one open for all. All Worldmark units we've stayed in at Valley Isle have given us an ocean view. Unlike Kihei the Valley Isle is right on the ocean, not across the street from it. Kihei has a better swimming beach and pool than Valley Isle. And Kihei has more things going on around it. Valley Isle is very quiet. You will enjoy both resorts and will be able to determine which is your favorite.

We been a member of Worldmark before it was Worldmark (it was Club Espree) and have stayed in both Kihei and Valley Isle. I have to say that Valley Isle is my favorite place to stay. It is quiet and right on the beach. The units all have a great view of the ocean and in the past we've been able to whale watch from our lanai. Of course, it's all in what you are looking for. If you are stuck on having a huge resort then you will want to go to Kihei. If you want a more laid back aloha feeling then Valley Isle is for you. Valley Isle is definitly for me!

Just spent a week at Kihei with another couple. Resort was very accomodating... nice sized rooms, view from 4th floor. Wished the window coverings were better (plastic bamboo, that you could see through at night, and let ALLOT of morning sun in). Too bad you got road noise with the window open. Also too bad it's OK to smoke on the lanai- since our neighbors below liked to smoke out there, and the smoke drifted up and IN to our unit. (Worldmark, are you LISTENING??) The hot tub was hotter than Hell. Pool was pleasant enough to just sit and relax for a few hours- but that wasn't why we went to Hawaii, so it didn't matter all that much. Workers were CONSTANTLY raking, scrubbing, hosing, pruning. The property was very well maintained, even though it might be several years old.
Groceries? Foodland was good (just ask for a temporary card at check out for best deals). Safeway was good too. Be prepared for prices! Steaks were $8-10 a pound, milk $6-8 a gallon. Nice restaurants, EASILY over $30 per dinner. Also be prepared for $4/gallon gasoline.
Lots of things to see and do. Be sure to have a comfortable rental car. The tiny convertible got rapidly exchanged in favor of a Lincoln Town Car, so 4 adults could fit with luggage. It was a highlight of the trip.
Favorite things? *Get up early one morning and trek to the top of Haleakala for sunrise (you have to leave by 4 am to make it). I wasn't keen on biking down, but there were DOZENS on the road doing it. View from 10,000 feet was awesome. *Beaches? One right across the street (head a block to the right- Charley Young)was great for some shade, clean powdery sand and marginal snorkeling. Wished I had paid more attention to the travel guides- best snorkeling is EARLY, before the breezes and tides screw everything up. Then I would have headed farther south- next beach south of Big Beach. I hear the turtles and fish there are awesome. FYI, some liked, we DIDN'T like Big Beach- thought it was dirty, crowded, sand was coarse. We drove all the way to the southern tip (careful here- rough lava rocky road) and because of timing, it was pretty barren. Perhaps really early, and we might have seen dolphins or turtles.
*Drives. Road to Hana is good. Start early (by 8) Great little places to stop along the way, to stretch, to buy coconut candy, shave ice, see waterfalls. Cave to the right of the black sand is a MUST! Low clearance, great photo op as you see the water out the other end. Don't let anyone scare you out of the full loop. The "dirt road" isn't all that bad (narrow, maybe, but you're driving slow anyway), views are awesome. What a contrast to the jungle side! When you get to the seven pools, take time for the 2 mile trek through the bamboo forest. Our favorite drive was NORTH- past Kanapalii... Past the Blow hole, there's a beach called "Slaughterhouse" and a cove past that. Truly wished we had our suits on for that one. I could almost see the fish from the roadside cliff above! One of the reasons we'll go back- just to swim in that cove! Last facility for 26 miles! The rest of the road- sometimes scary as it climbs WAY up, way narrow. Remember, we're driving a mega-sled! Pick up some of Julia's banana bread. Stop along the road for 2/$5 pineapples and $3 flowers (wish we had done that trip on the first couple days, so we COULD have had a fresh bouquet to enjoy). Grilled pineapple is the best! As you make your way back toward Kahului, thre is a park with swinging bridges. It was too late for us to catch that. Maybe next trip.
*Luau- I opted for CLOSE rather than quality. Bad decision. The Wailea Marriott was only a few miles up the road, but NOTHING like the Luau I attended in Lahaina a few years ago. Make the drive. Be sure you have a designated driver, since those "free" Mai tais take their toll!
*Restaurants- Buzz's wharf dockside in Malaleea was AWESOME! Great Steak, but the PRAWNS! Tasted like lobster. No kidding. The Waterfront was good (get 2 for 1 fish dinner coupons from the desk if you go) but pretty expensive ($39 fish dinner and automatic 22% tip). *Snorkel/boat excursions- take an early trip to Molokini. We opted for the afternoon ride, and because of rough seas, couldn't get to Molokini but to a turtle bay, instead. Other friends took a ferry to Lanai, and raved about the beach. Wish we had done that.
*Zip lines. One resort patron said the Flyin' Hawaiian zip was the best. But $159??? I couldn't see spending that much cash, so we kept our feet on the ground.
My husband was anxious to get home and book another week in 13 months... he had a GREAT time. I like to see different things, so I'm not quite ready to go back just yet. But we WILL go back.

This is a nice, large resort on a good location: within walking distance to at least three beaches (one is across the street). The pool is decent sized and we enjoyed the hot tub as well. They have poolside massage and an Expedia staff to help you with your tourist activies bookings. We had an ocean view from our 4th floor balcony. The disadvantage is we were along the side street which is noisy with traffic. We had to run the a.c. at night to drone out the traffic noise. There are several good restaurants within walking distance but do take the time to go to Lahaina too for some good food and shops. Some shops advertise very cheap tourist activities (for example, $28 instead of $89 for a two stop snorkelling excursion to the Molikini Crater). That's only if you promise (and that means hand over that credit card!) that you will drive to Lahaina to attend a Wyndham Resorts presentation - how funny is that?!
Maui is known to have the largest number of swimmable beaches and we tried several. My family loved it here and we hope to come back some day.

We stayed at this resort in March 2010. Great View of Sunsets from third floor of building five and just a stroll across the street to the beach but go early in the morning as the wind comes up in the PM. The resort was very well maintained and the unit clean. We found the pool crowded but then it was Spring Break. Took Maui Adventure Cruises to Lanai, Great Whale watching for several hours on trip there and back. The snorkelling was average, go to Molokini, Olowalu or Turtle Town from Maalea Boat Harbour. Maui is still my favorite of the Hawaii Islands but each one has its charms and should be experienced

The Expedia Concierge at the resort can help you with this and quite often can offer discounts on these services. The charters are usually out of Lahaina and Maalaea Boat Harbour

Just came back from another one week vacation in Kihei. LOVED IT AGAIN! 3 bedroom unit for 8 in building 5. Perfect location. This site is perfectly situated to everything, across from the beach and the ABC store. Unit is clean and plenty comfortable. Staff is friendly and very informative. Woke up to chirping birds at 5AM local time and took a nice walk along the beach. Will be returning soon again.

My wife and I recently spent a week at Kihei and had a wonderful time. Only 2 small issues. We found a roach in the master bathroom and our shower began dripping. Both problems were quickly handled and we had no more "visitors". We stayed in 4401 which had an ocean view that was great. The staff was terrific, the hot tub and pool fine. We were across from the beach, less than a 5 minute walk. A great central location for seeing attractions. I highly suggest the Maui Revealed book as it helped us tremendously; also the Expedia morning meeting the first day helped us figure out what to do. Prices weren't as bad as I expected... gas was about 3.80 a gallon. We went on a dinner cruise, submarine, (a bit disappointing due to lack of variety of ocean creatures and color)Feast at Lele Luau (Great) Aquarium, (also great)Warren & Annebelle show (You've got to see this!) Plantation tour, (very interesting)ate at Bubba Gumps(terrific food & atmosphere) drove to Hana(a bit un-nerving)played on the beach and of course shopped. Many of these activities were at Lahaina which is a real cool area with many activities, We brought back some Maui Gold pineapple which is delicious. All in all we had a great week in Maui and the resort was excellent. We would stay here again. The roach was an unpleasant start but in a tropical climate, not unusual and I can't be sure it didn't come from the airport. No more were seen and the accomodations and staff were great.

We have stayed at this resort about 14 times in the last 7 years. A few things to know about staying at this resort: Stay away from booking the 2 bedroom Queen No View rooms they all back up against the alley/service road. If you have to book a No View room book the 2 bedroom Twin No View rooms they are in better buildings and are quieter. 1 bedroom No View rooms in in bldgs 3 or 4 are much quieter and have a garden view as opposed to an alley view. This definitely isn't the best Worldmark but it is decent and the majority of staff is GREAT. One time I complained about the carpet being dirty and they scheduled a carpet cleaning the very next day. If you stay in bldg 3,4, or 5 you can hear the music every night from the neighboring hotel "Maui Coast" which isn't bad (depending on the musician) and they stop playing at 9:00. The balconies on upper floor no view rooms are cleaner and the rooms much lighter. If you are in a 1 bedroom Limited View or a 2 bdr Twin Limited View bldg. 5 or 7 is your best bet(upper floors)bldg 1 isright on the road and Kihei gets really loud Friday through Sunday. If everything isn't satisfactory let the staff know they will do everything in their power to fix it!!! Happy Vacationing - P.S. Makena (Big Beach) is the BEST!!

My daughter & son-in-law just checked in tonight to start their honeymoon. She called, crying. They weren't able to rent a car (something to do with credit card declined, although both have accounts in decent shape) - maybe youth (25)????? Then she hadn't read the reservation correctly (studio) and was expecting at least a 1-BR. Although the actual room is on par with her previous WM experience, it sounded like it was way "in the back" - again, she didn't read the reservation "no view." Between the exorbitant grocery prices (they forgot about that), the windy beach, and faced with expensive taxi fare to get about, it's been a bad start for them. I've suggested they check out the Activity Zone. They're not spoiled kids, actually very level-headed. Just that she did absolutely everything for the wedding, and I think she was hoping the honeymoon would be a little easier logistically.
Appreciate any suggestions (no lectures, please)to pass on to make this a better experience for them. Yes, they're working on the positive attitude!

Rent snorkels and boogie boards for the week (Boss Frogg's just down the street) and go to Maluaka Beach south of Wailea (it's past a stone church and the Maui Prince resort faces the center of the beach). Pack a lunch, sunscreen and be beach bums!

If they go left from resort probably 2 blocks there was a place that rented scooters, this may be a more economical solution than taxi or inconvenience of bus. They need to go to beach across street in morning to avoid wind.
Hope they can enjoy despite set backs.

So sorry! I'm not sure if it is financially possible, but there are some other rooms available for Bonus Time.
They should also check for public transportation. I'm not sure if that would work for that particular resort.
