Returned today from three nights at Worldmark Indio. Was the wife, two kids (16 and 11) and myself in a two bedroom (king in master two twins in second bedroom). We are new owners and this was our first stay at a Worldmark property. Arrived at 5:30pm and only had to say no to the owner update twice and Jan was very friendly and gave us some good advice on the area.

We were a bit underwhelmed when we walked into the room. It was a very narrow room with the dinning room, kitchen, living room all lined up one after the other with the two bedrooms and bathroom off to one side. The only other timeshare we have stayed in had a much lager and spacious room. Both bedrooms were cramped with little room to "move around". Our room (3206) was right by the elevator so my son was awoken each time people would get off the elevator as the walls seemed paper thin. Our room looked out over the lazy river (closest room to the lazy river) so there was noise from the lazy river but it got quiet at 1000pm so that was not bad. It was nice to sit on the balcony and watch the people at the lazy river.

We also found the room to be a bit worn. The cabinets and furniture had the finish missing and the walls needed some touch-up paint. You could really hear the people moving around in the room above our unit. The room was equipped well and overall was adequate for our needs.

The outside was another story. The grounds are beautiful and the pools are awesome. Always had room at the pools and they were not too crowded despite the holiday weekend. We enjoyed the BBQ lunch they serve on the weekends and enjoyed the recreation room.

Was also surprised at the location of the resort. Indio is definitely not the nicest area and thought it was an odd place to stick a resort of this caliber. Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage or Palm Springs would have been better locations for this resort.

Overall we had a great time and despite the minor observations above we look forward to our next visit to Worldmark Indio.

We just returned from 4 nights at Indio and WOW!!! What a great resort!! Units were clean, updated and had great views where ever your room was located. The pools and lazy river were awesome and the duck ponds that circle around the entire facility added beauty and a tranquill feeling. Staff were great and very helpful answering all our questions and giving us local info. If I was to have a complaint, it would be the parking. Every night we had to park at least a complete building away from our room, even when we were back by 7:30 p.m. Maybe that was due to some people never leaving the resort...you really didn't need to, there is plenty to do there...but it was irritating to not be able to park closer..and we only had one car for our unit. We think it would be better to have a room number painted on the pavement for the first car of that unit and other car's would have to park else where or under the covered parking further away from the building.
There is plenty to do in the Palm Springs, Indio area and we had a great time at the resort and exploring the surrounding area and all its activities.

We loved our stay in Indio. The room was great. The service was wonderful. It was extremely hot, but the pools and air conditioning made up for the heat.

We loved all the activities that were available, although, I did come home with torn ACL and Meniscus. I had never played tennis before and tried for the first time in Indio. I still had a great time.

My children loved the lazy pool. My children and I would love to spend a few more days there next time around.

I agree. The Indio resort is one of my favorites! I've gone at least once a year for the last 3 years. Last month, I spent a 3-day weekend there with 3 of my girlfriends. We didn't play any tennis, but we all had massages and facials at the spa. It was fabulous! Maybe you should try the spa instead of tennis next time!

All the great things mentioned above about Indio are true. We just returned from Indio staying at the 4 bedroom presidential suite, and it was amazing. We had a total of 6 adults and 2 children with us, and there was more than enough room for everyone. Both children and adults utilized the common pool areas, and the outdoor jacuzzi on the balcony suite (but it wasn’t hot enough at night for the adults). This was our 2nd time staying at Indio, and we were overall happy with the resort and most of the staff.

Just returned from another fantastic stay at WM Indio. Had a great room that was on the fourth floor (corner room) overlooking a lake and the pool.

Outside of an earthquake and one small issue (sofa was broken and not usable) when we arrived that maintenance took care of it first thing in the morning, it was an outstanding trip. Oh, forgot my car got hit with a golf ball in the parking lot.

When we arrived and went to the host's desk he proudly announced that we were scheduled for an update the following morning so please don't make any plans. I quickly announced that the update was one of the plans I wouldn't be making as i was on vacation and didn't have time for such nonsense. He tried one more time to reschedule and then dropped it.

One funny event that we got a kick out of was a family attempting to BBQ on the first floor of the building across from us. They must not have been familiar with BBQ/Grilling and had flames about 3 feet high out the top of the BBQ and he was trying to cook his steaks in all those flames. At one point his wife brought out a towel to try and knock the flames down but the towel caught on fire and they stomped it on the ground. I have no idea why the flames were so high but the guy didn't seem to mind it a bit and cooked his meat for what had to be 15 minutes with more flames then I have ever seen in a BBQ. At one point I was afraid there was going to be an explosion the flames were so high.

Already looking forward to going back.

If I was to give my stay a grade, it would be a D+. First off we checked in on Sunday 07/25/10. Check in time was at 4pm. We arrived about 415 to check in to find a huge line in the lobby only to find out that the rooms were not ready for hundreds of guests. I was told different numbers every time, but it was something like there was 230 people checking out and 230 checking in. The hotel staff was not able to handle such numbers. A manager told me that they can only handle about 150. What they did was took down our phone number to be called when our room was ready on a first come first serve basis. We didnt get to our room until 730pm. Over 3 hours of waiting in the desert heat with all of our belongings in the car. We also had two young boys with us and they were restless from the drive to the resort and the wait for the room. I decided to complain to a manager about the situation that most people were in and all his response was we messed up and we're sorry. They knew how many people were going to be checking in and out days before it actually happened. If they knew that they werent going to be able to have the rooms ready, why not call people and tell them so they dont get there right at 4 and have to wait over 3 hours. The manager assured me that we would be "taking care of" for the trouble. I never heard or seen the manager for the remainder of the stay and we were there a week. That pretty much set the tone for our trip which was really upsetting being our first time and the resort in Indio.
