Is this resort next door to Waipouli Beach resort ?

I've ever slept on a bed more comfortable than the one at this resort. Anyway...the boat trip included lunch and drinks as well as all equipment for snorkleing. Cost was about $70 each which considering the length of the trip and all that is included was well worth the price. We say the beautiful rugged coastline, spinner dolphins and sea turtles. The boat staff was unbeleivable. Each staff person took time to sit and chat for 20-30 minutes with someone on the cruise. They answered questions and talked about what it is like to live in Kauai.
We also took a small plane tour of the island which was nice but not fabulous like the boat tour.
After our snorkleing trip we stopped at a coffee plantation for some samples and shopping (we love coffee). The plantation is not far from the port Hanapepe.
While the beaches and slow pace of the island is breathtaking...watch out for the chickens and roosters. They're not only EVERYWHERE but they are aggressive and will take your meal off your plate even in a resturant. I;m not kidding. Birds have no fear in Kauai.

Hi Lauren,
I answered your PM but will answer your question here too.
Kapa's Shores is practically next door to Waipouli Beach Resort but no comparison...be aware of that. I actually think the address of our resort is listed as Waipouli. Anyway the entrance is almost directly across the street from the Taco Bell if you recall where that was. The entrance to Waipouli Beach Resort is pretty mcuh across the street from the entrance to I think it is Safeway - or maybe Foodland, but there is a great pizza plce in the complex. So they are very close. I think you passs Waipouli Resort, then Kauai Kalani, then maybe Kapaa Shores. I would enclose the link to an aerial shot but the privately owned places don't show. Here is the link to the Waipouli aerial. I am sure the Kauai Ksalani is next door because I know the entrance to it is directly across the street from the Whaling Wall mural and you can see tha tin the picture.

Here is the link to the aerial map of the island. You can see Waipouli and the Kapaa Shores is just a bit further up the road.

Hope this helps. I hope the moderator doesn't think I am promoting the other resort, I'm not. Just trying to get a good location idea for you

Our favorite activity is to go to secret beach. If you get the ultimate kauai guide it will give directions. It is north by the lighthouse. you hike down to it- if there are 30 people on the whole beach then it is crowded. We like to boogie board in the waves- they can get big sometimes so be careful. You can then hike down the beach and rummage through some tide pools. Then walk down and play in the waterfall- very refreshing! Last time we were on Kauai we took some friends. Of the thousand pictures they took secret beach is their screen saver on the computer and they say it was their favorite place- it is magical!

I'm just curious what time of year you were there. We were at Secret Beach in June and we couldn't walk to a waterfall. So just curious.

Thanks,
