Has anyone driven to Jasper and back to the resort in 1 day?
Are you able to see the main sights and still do it?

Thanks for your advice.

We are booked for 2 1-bedrooms (4 max occupancy) and 1 studio (2 max). We're currently waitlisted on a 1 bedroom for the studio. Are they really strict on the number of occupants? Do they really count the people in each room? My concern is that we were planning on staying in the studio with our 5-month old baby and the csr in the vacation planning department said that my baby is considered a 3rd person and the maximum occupancy is 2 for the studio, So if we don't get the 1 bedroom were waitlisted in, we're gonna have to cancel the whole trip or have to request another family member hot to come so my baby could come frown

Yes. They are strict on the issue of how many people are allowed to be in the units. And yes, babies are considered a person in a unit. You have a chance of being told to leave if it is found out that there is an unauthorized person. You would not be able to get your credits back either.

It's about a ten hour round trip from the WM in Canmore. This barely leaves you time for sightseeing. You'd want to go to the icefield bus/walking tour. We just returned from the Columbia Ice Fields, each ticket was 49.00 and well worth it. With stops for lunch at Lake Louise, you're looking at a two day trip. Also, heavy police speed traps the entire trip, so you'd not be able to exceed the listed speed which is about 45 mph, but is in kilometers. You could do it, but leave in the dark and return in the dark.

Hi All, we just returned from 1 week at the WM Canmore-Banff. Wonderful WM resort, extremely well run. Awesome staff. Loved the huge amount of free washers/dryers. Great underground parking. Loved the deer who almost daily breakfast & dinner behind the WM facility, within feet of the BBQ grills. Hated the tiny size of the 1 bedroom unit. Too large furniture crammed into small rooms spells disaster. My husband was squeezing between the 14 inch space from the end of our king bed (very comfortable) and the dresser and stubbed his toe and broke it. The tiny LR had an eormous chair in it that left no room to climb between the couch & coffee table. There was no room to invite our friends in, so we used their 2 bedroom unit for visiting. For a fabulous meal, go to Eddie's Burgers in Banff. Indescribable, unique menu. Reasonable. We loved the Rose & Crown in Canmore. Very reasonable.

What is the status of services in Canmore? Are many businesses closed? Is the water still on a boil order? Will the resort provide bottled water?

Spent 4 days in Canmore this week and can report that we experienced no problems in the aftermath of the late June floods and extensive damage to roads and some structures. The boil water order was lifted on July 5 and most damaged roads are quickly being worked on and detours exist for most of those.

The resort is terrific and manned with great folks. We came through Banff Nat'l Park to get here and were charged $14.25/day for two to just drive through it! We weren't even staying in Banff, but they still charged, so be aware, that you will pay at least $14.25 a day for two to get into this place!!

Be sure to buy groceries stateside and the food prices and everything here is terribly inflated! This country is money hungry and we will not return due to the over gouging of Americans. They may have national health insurance but everyone pays for it...let's hope the US doesn't follow. Now I know why the Canadians flock to America whenever they can!!

Re: Questions and Comments - Canmore - 09/21/14 05:31 AM

DH and I will be arriving in Banff on the Rocky Mountaineer in mid-June and would like to stay at Worldmark Canmore/Banff before going on to Calgary to visit family. We will be at the end of a long trip and only want to stay long enough to get an overview of Banff National Park and see its major attractions. We can do some short hikes, but not long ones. Can anyone suggest how many days we should book at this resort?
Also, does anyone know of a rental car company that will be open when we arrive in Banff - about 8 PM?

Re: Questions and Comments - Canmore - 09/22/14 06:30 PM

Wife and I just returned from a Wednesday - Sunday trip. Since Wednesday and Sunday were travel days, we had 3 full days to play. We did Lake Louise 1 day (lots of smaller hikes available and great scenery everywhere), Banff proper for 1 day (shops, some local hikes like Tunnel Mountain) and the hot springs, then Banff another day where we did the Sulphur Mountain gondola and a neat little hike near the resort by the Nordic Center.

If we had another day we would have definitely visited the Columbia ice fields.

Short answer - 4 days would make a great visit.

Enjoy - we thought the resort was excellent with great staff!

Re: Questions and Comments - Canmore - 10/09/18 02:08 PM

I don't know if this is the right place to put this out, but I reserved a 1 bedroom at Canmore July 11 - 18 2019, but now I need a two bedroom, and of course two weeks after I book the 1Bd the two were totally booked. I put in a request for a waitlist, but I know I've books 2 bedrooms before & only needed a 1 bedroom. Does anyone have a 2 bedroom they'd like to switch?? Help
