Ft. Lauderdale - Santa Barbara Resort Review - 09/15/14 11:09 AM

Have you stayed at WorldMark Ft. Lauderdale - Santa Barbara? Here's your chance to tell other WorldMark owners what it's really like. How big is the pool? How hot is the hot tub? What do you wish you had known before you left home?

We came here in November 2015 with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids. We got a 2 bedroom unit. The unit was very strangely laid out. The master bedroom was huge with tons of wasted space while the combined living room, dining room and kitchen was smaller than the master. It was a ridiculously small space. The living room was about 10'x8'. That is not enough space for 4 people let alone 6 people! The air conditioning worked poorly. It never got below 75 degrees. We complained and they sent someone up but all he said he could do was re-adjust the vents. This of course did no good. The air did not work at all in the second bedroom but just blew warm air. The description that Worldmark sent us said that there was washer/dryer in the unit. There was not! We went grocery shopping and bought things to barbecue on the one BBQ in the whole place. We used it one night and it was ok. The next time there was no propane so we reported it and they said it would take a few days to have it replaced and they would let us know. How long does it take to get a tank of gas? So they suggested we do our bbqing at the Wyndham across and down the street. This is a 8 minute walk but my husband and son-in-law packed up the BBQ stuff and headed over. When they got back we found out the lady who told us to go across the street knew nothing and the replacement tank was in the shed!
The service is very bad. The units are bad and the amenities (barbecue, washer/dryer/air conditioning) are horrible. We will not be back. We have been to over 25 Worldmark resorts and this one is so far below regular Worldmark standards.

Was this the Wyndham resort or the Worldmark resort? I see there are 2 in Santa Barbara.
