Long Beach Tavern - best pizza and a fun place to hang out with the locals

For a nice dinner The Depot Restaurant is the place to go. Amazing food and service. During Oct-May Wednesday night is burger nite.

We have friends who live in the area and seldom have the chance to try different eating places, but on this stay were on our own and enjoyed several places we have never been before. For breakfast we first ate at Benson's by the Sea. It was good breakfast fare and service was fast and pleasant. There was a WorldMark discount available here. Another good spot was 42nd Street Café and Bistro. We really enjoyed the breakfast here, but forgot to use our WorldMark discount. Guess we will have to god again on a future visit. For dinner, we had great halibut and chips at Doogers Seafood Grill. Have heard they have the best clam chowder in town, but we didn't try it so we can't confirm it. Also, a discount is available here. When we checked into the resort, a staff member recommended a dinner place to the north at Klipsan Beach. Nanci and Jimella's is well worth the short drive (about 15 minutes). The food and service was excellent with a nice choice of fresh local seafood, and meats and vegetables from the area. And, you get a free dessert with your WorldMark guest card. The only problem you will have will be selecting which to choose from the beautiful dessert tray! If you happen to be there on Wednesday night, they have a weekly "Blue Plate Special" which apparently always includes homemade meatloaf and usually another surprise entrée. We will definitely return to enjoy this place again. On our last night at the resort we walked across the street to the Pickled Fish to enjoy the view and a sunset dinner. The food was very good and service was great. Although we didn't eat at The Lost Roo on this trip, it is usually one of our "must do" places and has never disappointed us.
